Gill is being extremely condescending . The federal and state governments have announced this week that the current crowd gather restrictions will be in place till May 14 and May 11 respectively . The federal goverment have sent the same memo to all sporting bodies including the over arching Sports Commision that they’ll provide an update at that time and don’t predict any forecasting prior to those dates . The same message they’ve announced publicly.

But we have the AFL saying they are going to announce prior to that date , when the federal government are going to lapse rules enough to allow the AFL to start .

Heard 4 different club presidents or CEO’s speak yesterday and every single one of them said the same thing , the competition and any possible scenario’s can’t be considered until the federal government and necessary state governments lapse crowd gathering rules . Which seems pretty common sense and logical I’d have thought .

Until then it’s all hypothetical dick measuring pr.

Yeah we need more testing to find those spreaders without obvious symptoms...their the hidden danger...

I don't know if they're a hidden 'danger', but they certainly carry and unknown effect. It seems to me still too much is unknown. That said, who wants to be a guinea pig to help find out?

Gilligan decided when the decision will be made. I think he's been taking decisiveness training from Goodloss.

Meanwhile, I've decided to watch the history channel instead of Fox footy.
I've already learnt the art of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics.

A stylised demon, another stylised demon, a chariot and a crescent means Two-tank-car-moon.

Before long we'll want to build statue of you to recognise your great philosophic prowess - it's how all great philosophers begin. ;)

Couldn't have said it better or agree with you more Tugga. If there's no fans there, I truly don't care. Haven't even watched the so called round 1 game.

If that's how we approach it, there probably won't be footy like we know it next year either. $$$$, the AFL need $$$$$ from the TV rights. Leave your TV on but don't watch it if you really want to help!

2020 is now a highly compromised season, think everyone agrees with that, perhaps. That being the case, I would be inclined to just run to 10 Victorian teams as a competition for 2020 - play each other once for nine rounds, final 5 - Vic State Premiership 2020. Then if travel restrictions are lifted enough, the 8 Interstate Clubs can have 7 Rounds, final 4 - Multi-date Premiership 2020. Should be enough to get money flowing from Channel7. If the one ground is used, say Marvel Stadium - enough seats, say 2000 (50000 / 2000 = 25-1 ratio) 48,000est could be removed to ensure social distancing, tickets are in a ballot so there is some sort of atmosphere. Have the Black Bombers enforcing distancing rules. Sanitise between games - Th, F, S, S M. BYO own food - no alcohol - own rubbish bag on back of seat for disposal.

Got to be better than nothing - as I said - everything will be compromised. This way games could get started sooner rather than later with Gvmt approvals hopefully. Let the good times roll  :tearsofjoy:

Ask the AFL to open the Comp...

There won’t be crowds at football this year it appears.

I must have missed all the reported outbreaks at sports events
Weddings ✔️
Parties ✔️
Cruise ships ✔️
Hospitals ✔️
There were 86,000 at the G for T20 final in March , guess what , no reported outbreaks

The authorities aRe intent on killing off professional sport , not much doubt about that

Apparently a risk after near disaster in the early days.

that's a brilliant test case , where there was a positive case and yet no outbreak as it supports my point entirely . you see unlike a dinner party when people are mauling the punch bowl and dipping their mits into bowls of nuts its any wonder transmissions take place or consider the cruise ship when some campaigner mauls the buffet before selecting their meal,,,,these type incidents just don't happen when seated at a sporting event unless you indiscrimantly decide yo French kiss the patron next to you

bring back the footy, it makes sense

Oh well. I guess every country in the world has it wrong then.

There’ll be football. But not with crowds for a while.

There's a Pandemic going on...
It's a deadly virus especially to older, medically compromised people...
Their are reports of carriers with no symptoms spreading CV...
In my CV book these unknown carriers of the CV are 'hidden' in the general population and carrying/spreading a 'dangerous' virus to other people...

Think the French Kiss is a near certainty (and get you arrested probably). Even people within 6 feet in an orchestra contracted it from one infected person. There were about 6 from 1 over a 60 minute rehearsal. Now I know AFL lovers are very demure and wouldn't be throwing their saliva, sneezing, coughing and would generally keep to themselves.................................

And not every carrier infects, and it has puzzled medical scientists. It's deadly to some and barely a cough to another. If you noticed I have been great advocate for wider testing to more can be found out about it. You must be having a panic attack day............................

You can’t compare an indoor event to an outdoor , i pointed to the T20 final with 86,000 there and a reported positive case attended and you guessed it , no outbreak . EXHIBIT A

Well you can take the risk of being around a carrier with no visible symptoms and see how that works out for youse and get back to me...
I'll just keep on advocating for testing for CV carriers in the general community and practising good hygiene and social isolation...
Just be careful that big mouth of yours doesn't trap any viruses................hate to see such a big advocate for smartness re CV come a cropper...

Wow, stood on a bumble bee today? You really are venting, in a rather macabre way too.

You can when you are dealing with social distancing. That's what it comes down to surely. Are you seriously suggesting that having someone coughing, sneezing or somehow expelling is going to be safer for YOU outside from three feet than inside from three feet? Good luck with that science!

Im really getting sick of the abuse professional sports are copping on Facebook etc. I get there are a bunch of flogs that hate sport but to be honest I would love to watch AFL every day at the moment. Would actually give me and plenty of others something to look forward to. We could have a drink for a reason, do a bit of SuperCoach, Place a couple bets it would be great. Instead all I see dickheads saying is these guys live outside the real world who do they think they are they are not health professionals or (insert everyone allowed to work at the moment)... no they are entertainers and when mental health is on a downer entertainment is essential...

Hope footy and other sports start ASAP and everything is done to ensure the players and their families are well looked after...!!

Yes I am , are you familiar with wind . Down wind , upwind . The risk outdoors is significantly lessened than being close quarters like restaurant sharing the salt shakers etc.

Yep, that’s why I say professional sport as we know it is ****ed coz the people we have voted in making the decisions would rather walk their poodle in Fitzroy gardens than go to the mcg , so seriously they CGAF. If they won’t allow crowds until there’s a vaccine that will highly unlikely ever Happen then kiss goodbye to footy as we ever knew it
It will return as a semi professional sport like a hyped up diamond valley league

The Bojangle preventative for Coronavirus - wind!

On the 27th the AFL will tell clubs they can begin training in 7-10 days (Little bit of inside knowledge here) . My guess is the season will return on June Long weekend with footy being on Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday.
This will have all been on advice from medical professionals and government. You can’t tell me the NRL doesn’t have government approval no matter what they say in the media.
Heard it here first
