Where are north at?

I think they did the right thing loading up on experience to strike while they were in the core groups window, but short of a form turn around it probably won't work out for them. It happens.
Yeah good on them for actually having a crack as opposed to being stuck in a 3, 5, 9 year rebuild.
FA signings generally cost the spot of a 4th or 5th rounder which means the strike rate is pretty low for kids taken that late.
They've past their time based on the past couple of months and their B grade kids never really made the jump up to A grade.

Their toughness is ill-directed - happy to try and intimidate the opposition or dish out hits in play, but it's never transferred into mental toughness when things go wrong or a willingness to take the game on (and stilted ball movement really cost them the game last Saturday night).

Their midfield is one-paced without Wells and Dal Santo was good at moving the ball quickly and accurately but this year seems to have dropped form quite a bit.

They're actually in ok shape for younger talls coming through and with mids generally easier to find than talls they could find a couple of kids who can play sooner rather than later and not have a devastating bottom 4 bottom out like some clubs do.

None of my mates in real life understand why I hate North Melbourne so much. I refuse to pick any North players in our snake draft league. I declined offers to use the Arden St gym pool with a mate up there. Refuse to see any games at Blundstone Arena due to them being involved.

Then I try to explain the rationale of their posters being campaigners on a football forum online and they laugh it off. Doesn't matter though boys if Jack Viney is a young alpha who dominates young girls out on chapel st with his muscular physique and juicy member thick tight and solid
What?

Brad Scott choosing to play Farren Ray over Ryan Clarke earlier in the year says all you need to know about him.

He's like the anti Bigfooty, he thinks being old is better than being good.

Luke Beveridge choosing to play Tom Boyd over anyone else on your list says all you need to know.

He's like the anti Bigfooty, he thinks that young and crap is better than old and decent.

North are at where we would think they'd be.. 5-8th in a dog fight trying to make the 8.
They will lose their next 3

I think that was an attempt at humour but really it just showed how insecure you are.

Mental toughness when things go wrong or a willingness to take the game on? 2 years ago we were 33 points down in the 3rd quarter of an Elimination final and won. Things were going wrong and we showed a willingness to take the game on. The following week we took on the Cats and withstood a barn storming finish.

1 year ago it was a few points the difference at 3 quarter time and went onto win in front of over 90,000, the next week went to Sydney (who smashed us the year before in the prelim) and won.

We have won 4 finals in 2 years - not sure mentally weak teams can do that. They normally crumble and go out in the 1st week or straight sets.

Tigers must have had a win.

Where we are at is heading towards our 3rd final series in a row. The good thing is we know how to win finals - and I like winning finals.

Another north fan with a chip on their shoulder wanting to talk richmond

Do your Mates in real life then knock the shit out of you for baing such an immature dickweed?

Interesting to see what your non-real life mates think, do they disspaear into clouds of pruplre smoke, and re-appear as pikachu?

He did well beating an old and decent side with young and crap whilst also playing Daniel who is a dud and Bontempelli who sleeps with the lights on.

And getting belted in prelims apparently.

Might surprise a few in finals (just like they have in the previous few years), but premiership contenders they are not. One North supporter above put it nicely - they recruited experienced/seasoned/old/injury-prone players in the hope of grabbing a surprise Bradbury premiership. I think a dramatic crash down the ladder in 2017 is virtually inevitable. As a neutral, I say clean out the list and do a full rebuild, except players like Brown.

You must be really insecure. You'd kill to have our coach, he actually knows what he's doing.

But I guess that's the easy reply for you. Don't acknowledge that Scott chose a washed up Ray over a Clarke who was playing very well in the twos.

If Clarke wasn't ready why rush him? He could have embarrassed himself like Boyd did on the weekend. Give the kids time.

As for beveridge why would I kill for a coach that has a game plan that did not stand up in finals? He is the exact coach you have had for 60 years.

You're having a laugh if you really believe that the Dogs and North are in similar positions regarding their lists.
North are better, they're older. That's how Brad and his club think.

God I hope Nicky Dal, Petrie and Spud go around again.

Hahaha, because we are clearly playing the exact same game plan as last year.

The problem they have is that they have a fair chunk of their list to be delisted/retired in the next 24 months. There's only so much quality you can replace with in such a short space of time. Not a lot of decent youth in their current 22. Going to be a tough 5-10 years for them going forward.

Missed last years Prelim? Only the Hawks got closer to the Eagles in WA last year.

What I'm trying to say is that in the current system the only finals that really matter are the Qualifying finals and the prelim - when was the last time you won one?

What's worse, a 20 year old playing a shocker or a whole team bar Goldy and MacMillan not rocking up? Your players seemed more worried about going for Bontempelli than actually winning. Lukas Webb had more clearances than Cunnington and Swallow, your apparent two main inside mids, combined.

Brad's mastermind gameplan of kick it long to tall forwards is a beauty. I look forward to seeing how it goes when Petrie and Waite call it a day (that's if they do, Jimmy Brayshaw might want to put out a few more commemorative jerseys for sale).
