where will we finish?

since the loss to the swans there has been a lot of negativity on how we are going to perform this year. so i wanted to do a poll to see if its just 1 or 2 posters or if everyone thinks we are in for a bad year. we have a tough start

richmond (should win)

brisbane (at the gabba is a hard win but IMO the lions will crash and burn this year)

essendon (we lost fev they lost lloyd, lucas and lovett. 3 players that hurt us every time we play)

adelaide (at aami that a tough win but they have had a lot of injury a will be under done or at half strength and judd will be back)

geelong (will probably lose, but we beat them last year. Hopefully it will be close)

collingwood (i don't think they'll improve as much as everyone thinks. they have picked up a ruckman at his thrid club and a slow-onballer)

st kilda (we got close last year, will be hard to get over the line)

port adelaide (their team looks good on paper, they just can't play together)

hawthorn (i dont know if they will improve. they have no backline and no rucks)

We have a good patch in the middle of the year where we can string a few solid wins together, against West Coast, Melbourne, North, Freo and Briabane. Then we play the Bulldogs, which will be a tough game and probably a loss, then Sydney, West Coast, Colingwood, Essendon, Richmond before a tough game against the Cats. Should finish off the year wiht a good win against Fremantle. So, we should perform well in the later half of the year, even if we have a rocky start, and should be playing in September.

I've put down 9th to 12th.

After our pre season I just don't see us going anywhere this year. (call me negative, I don't care, that's just the way I see it)

My gut says we will have to win this game to make the 8, and this year, Freo at Subi in round 22 won't be an easy task IMO.

More specifically, I think we'll fall into 8th spot, much like Essendon did last season. I just think that there's 8 teams that are clearly below us in terms of ability.

I can see us finishing above:

Essendon
Fremantle
Kangaroos
Melbourne
Port Adelaide
Richmond
Sydney
West Coast

The only team out of those that I'm concerned about overtaking us is West Coast, but I'd still back us to finish on top of them. As for the rest, I'm pretty confident we'll be able to finish above them.

Don't really care too much about ladder finishes. Flags are the only things that matter, the rest is failure. Hoping we'll finish the H&A in a position that'll give us a tilt at the flag. Hit top form at the right time, and anything can happen.

My worry with that is that if we don't get off to a good start I think we are buggered.

This is where we will finish. Playing finals footy after trading away our premier forward, and a tough start to the year would be seen as a win for the club, and then build from there from 2011 and on.

I dont really see us Improving on our good season last year but somewhat staying in the same vicinity around 5-8th on the ladder. I would be very surprised if we missed the finals this year. A fit Jamo, Waite and Walker is a massive plus as well as Warnock doing the bulk of the ruck work this year. These are massive In's for us and lets hope they stay on the park. Fev's loss will be covered by multiple players with everyone playing a hand etc. We are being written off by all and sundry this year and it suits me fine to be honest.

No expectations outside of the club means no pressure and let the opposition take us lightly if they want.
