Stop trolling and stick to the thread topic.

Collingwood are the second most recent team to win the flag, and the 2nd or 3rd best team in it in 2025.

Carlton haven't had a top 4 finish in 25 years (odds of this happening in a 16/17/18 team equalised competition is a fraction under 1 in 1000), and their list has gone backwards after a 9 win 2025, despite having the easiest draw in the competition.

So the list I'd least want to have is Carlton. Comfortably.

There’s some good points here and we see blues have humbled themselves after the big 2025 reality check

Made a lot of off season changes, and will walk into 2026 knowing that the work needs to be put in

You also can't really burn it down because we're now in expansion drafts, and coaching wise, the club took the cowards route of promoting from within (so things are likely to get worse on that front). It's not a terrible list, just one that's seems like it'll be stuck between 7-13th. At least the NGA rule changes have worked out for them, though SA prospects do have a nasty habit of being overrated a year out (though that might just be mitigating a Butters sized hole).
Port have screwed themselves in trades, yes, but the NGA and father/sons will have them bringing good talent in despite Tasmania blowing up drafts. I'd rather be them than Essendon.

Question is basically in the title. Basically I am asking in this thread which club do you think is a combination of furthest from a flag and possibly least exciting going forward? I am not asking which club you think will come last in 2020, but that could be taken into account of you want. I am asking if you combine possibly a poor to average ladder position with youth coming through that does not feel exciting which list do you think is furthest from a flag?

For instance, despite the fact there is a good chance Gold Coast are going to come last in 2020 I personally would not have them as the list that I would least want my club to have as sure they will come last this year (likely) but they also have a stack of really exciting young prospects in Rankine, King, Lukosius and now Rowell, Anderson and Flanders. That is a very exciting group of names and it is enough to keep them off the "least wanted" list in my eyes.

For me I would go with North Melbourne. I know it is a controversial choice but I look at their list and I don't think they are winning any flags in the next couple of years and unlike clubs that are ranked lower than them like Gold Coast or Carlton I don't think North Melbourne have any exciting youth coming through that could elevate them to premiership contention either. They are sort of in this weird zone where they are too good for the best draft picks, but not good enough to be in any sort of premiership talks and I don't see that changing anytime soon so I feel like out of every team in the competition North Melbourne is actually the furthest away from potentially winning a flag.

What about you, which team list would you least want based on how far away they are from winning a flag?
Sydney obviously. Talent isn't there and mentally broken.

The daily double in terms of not seeing a flag, not to mention they are historically a poor club and horribly woke with a coward shit-truck fraud as CEO. If it weren't for the AFL trying to make them better by gifting them the world, they literally would be nowhere, which they kinda are anyway.

You do know I wrote that 5 years ago don’t you? No need to go on the attack about it.

I do. I wasn't going on the attack.

I didn't mention Paul Kelly's miss in the 2nd Quarter of the 1996 GF that would have put 30 points up, once ;)

Then why quote the post I made 5 years ago about North?
I only looked at the date of your post once I posted mine, I didn't pay attention to year it was posted. Do you feel an apology is warranted? I don't get your angle. Do you want me to delete it?

I think North are going to struggle a bit when it comes to book ends but your midfield should be quality in the next year or two.
Forwards; Larkey, Trembath
Rucks; Xerri, Goad
Defenders; Logue, Comben, WDawson, Pink
Swings: MWhitlock

2026; Ayden McCartney.
2027; My boy Tasemba.

We'll be right mate, don't worry about our bookends.

There might be some bad news with 2026 :p

You think he wants to play for you?

What more could we do for his dad? Surely he comes to us. You can keep Neck, if it happens again, I will go postal.

That we employed John after allowing his flog cat son to play for you blokes beggars belief.

One of the darkest chapters in the Norf Story, imo. Not only shouldn't we have given Turncoat Johnny Blakey a job, he should be scrubbed from our history for being such a poor treacherous father.

Well the rumour on the Swans board is he wants to play for North as he has more of an emotional connection to North (still likes the Swans) but he also wants to stay in Sydney, so it is a matter of what is the greater pull. If North relocates to Sydney next year it is guaranteed he will pick you guys.

Why would he apologise for a post he made 5yrs ago saying North are nowhere near it, when they are indeed still nowhere near it.

A more important question is, which team's coaching staff, management, attitude and culture would you least want?

I feel like Luke Beveridge's inability to ever admit fault is likely a pretty big issue for the Bulldogs. Whenever he faces criticism he always goes on the attack and blames the journalists and I suspect his assistant coaches get blamed a lot too. It is a very Trumpy attitude actually.

Do you think he's like that with the players, too?

Coming into 2026? Port. Overall? Essendon.

I mean, what do you do if you're Port and Butters leaves? Their trading has been rough in recent years to try to keep Hinkley ball competitive and outside of a potentially late-bloomer in Bergman, or JHF living up to potential, there isn't a whole lot seemingly coming through that can really change their fortunes in the short term. You also can't really burn it down because we're now in expansion drafts, and coaching wise, the club took the cowards route of promoting from within (so things are likely to get worse on that front). Generally though, Essendon. They're the poster boys for mediocrity right now. A good coaching change/administrative clean out might reverse this, but at the moment, it seems like a club that is waiting to implode in on itself. A couple of shining lights (albeit one wanted to go to Hawks last off season) and a whole lot of refuse.

Mediocrity would be overachieving for Essendon over the next couple of seasons.

They look like they'll be entrenched in the bottom 4 for at least a few more years. Especially if there only good players can't get on the park.
