Interestingly, it was 4 positions above Carlton's median finishing ladder position in the same timeframe.
No one cares about your new found approach of 'median' results.
No doubt it's something Carlton folk would prefer to ignore, but merely correcting your fellow Carlton supporter when he suggested that Collingwood finishing outside the finals was 'reverting to type'.
Rather ironic coming from a Carlton supporter don't you think, given Carlton have very recently endured a 10 year finals drought?

It's fair to say Pies do have a culture, with loyalty, covering up stuff (when we can) and high expectations.
Eddie McGuire is very typical if out clubs leadership style and he still has influence, Kelly is a mate IIRC.
The fire sale of Treliar,Grundy Philips etx was the result of that style. Worst of all was the Beams mess.
So is the way we have shown loyalty to a bunch of other blokes, our partnerships with clubs like Footscray and Sydney and Essendon, and our strong financial position.
The way Malthouse left was quite "Collingwood", lots of passion, mistakes, a favourite son, and some losing Grand Finals.
The way Malthouse left Carlton was also very "Carlton". Sacked mid year, a mercenaries, dissension, and an attempt to buy success by getting in Bolton.
Carlton has a style too. Like Collingwoods it goes back decades.
It's quite fair to look back, Pies are playing true to type. We have tried to hold our premiership heroes together for another fling, and been loyal (too loyal?) to favourite sons like Pendles and Sidey and Howe.
Carlton are true to type as well, they rely on a fistful of stars and a truly brilliant captain. Very Carlton. Since the 1960s Carlton have been savage and unforgiving with their coaches and since the 1990s they have been ruined by Elliotesque egotism and factions.
It's fair to ask if they have similar attitudes about pay scales and list balance to what they had 10 years ago, and if it divides the playing group.

Carlton have made 9 list changes currently . Some forced, others pushed, it's what happens in the world of AFL as teams strive to be better. If they don't make changes, then it's virtually impossible to improve. You can agree with that or not, only time will tell. Good luck in 2025

The most recent season which has just gone has Carlton in the eight and Pies outside the eight, so it really doesn't matter if you won a flag in 2023 and we hadn't played finals for 10 years does it.
