Precisely what I've been saying. What's more, this action by St Kilda is likely to do more damage to the reps of the players and the club itself than the whole of the saga to date. Yeah, let's take a sledgehammer to smash this peanut!

I agree with Phil. Whats the point of ganging up on this kid, she's clearly not right. That email from Gilbert's QC to her and her father sounded like real bully boy stuff, it made me quite uncomfortable.

I don't claim to know much about this but it looks like being a PR disaster fot St Kilda and the AFL. I can't believe St Kilda can be so stupid as to go with a legal " solution" to their problem. It will only lose them the goodwill of the majority of the public. Get a decent PR company guys and start to act with some semblance of copassion.

We need activists, but Phil Cleary does annoy me.

However, in this regards I think he is pretty accurate. I don't think the Saints need to go all out on the girl here. Fair enough try and get an injunction preventing the publishing of the photo's, however seeking such damages is overkill.

At the end of the day, any players caught in the photo's were pretty stupid to allow those photo's to be taken. Gilbert was equally stupid not deleting them. He was then equally stupid getting involved with a minor (regardless of what age she told him she was).


In the end, the photo's are just embarrassing, but they are not disgusting. It's not as if Riewoldt or Dal Santo were doing anything against the law. They were just being id1iots on their end of season trip. This is not a situation of intolerance towards women....and this girl is not the first 17 year old to be upset at a boy. It is not indication of a culture in football.



In the end, if everyone sues for embarrassing photo's of them put up on facebook, then the courts will become incredibly backlogged. Many times I have asked friends not to put photo's up, yet they still end up there. The only difference is I'm not famous.

OK, my photo's don't reach the same audience, but I still have around 700 friends on my facebook account and that's a lot of people, especially considering they go into albums and other people's friends see them as well. That's a lot of people who see my embarrassing photo.


I think its time to move on. The Saints have the injunction on the photo's, so if the girl puts anymore up then she has breached a court order and will be liable. All the Saints are doing is keeping it in the media.

This issue bears no resemblance whatsoever to what happened to his sister. Just because his sister was a victim, it doesn't mean this woman is. He'd do well to get across this, because his views are terribly, terribly skewed.

I can name 50 teenage girls I know that have had a bad experience with a boy. Girls are just immature at that age. Just because it was an AFL footballer who has hurt her does not make her different.

She is also not the first 17 year old girl to take facebook revenge. Hell, I'm 24 and I know a stack of girls who still take revenge over social media.

This is why the Saints should just ease up on the court action. It's just an immature 17 year old girl who was scorned by a boy. I agree with your statement above. No need to crucify her for what she has done. The only reason she is getting attention is because she got involved with a footballer (who is also at an immature age himself).

She's an impressionable immature kid that has grown up on a steady diet of watching women in music video clips getting access to the alpha male of the month by skanking it up, and when she goes out and imitates this conduct the very same media shakes its finger at her in moral outrage.

They made a dollar out of promoting this crap and now they are making a dollar out the judgement angle.

Let down and powerless is how 90% of teenagers feel, its a natural state of being at that age...they dont all act out regardless of the consequences.

Teenagers learn from their mistakes. We all did silly things in our teens. They make you a stronger person. This girl is going to have to go around with the stigma of been a '****' etc for the rest of her life. Right now she is feeling burned by everyone, but one day she will realise her mistakes and I . As will the footy players who got involved with her and are now paying the price.


I don't think the right avenue to deal with this is the courts. She does not deserve to be bankrupted for the rest of her life, because her reactions to been dumped are quite human and natural for girls of that age...especially ones with troubled family lives.


The players have to take their medicine. They allowed themselves to be photographed nude. She will have to live with her actions for the rest of her life as well. The injunction is the only legal remedy the Saints needed to seek. They should just move on now.

Seriously, I totally get why a lot of St Kilda fans are passionate about supporting their club but some people here seem to have lost all perspective. As if the players are so damaged by all this... and if they are they have the media to thank, not some 17 year old child.

If you read between the lines here, people like me are actually trying to save the St Kilda football club's reputation because the way they are doing things at the moment is destroying it irreparably.

Players have done nothing wrong here other than photogragh themselves. The girl stole images from the computer and because she is a woman scorned she wants to take revenge. If she gets away with it means everyone can do the same thing. Sportsmen lack privacy as it is. The girl is a frootloop and needs to be stopped in her tracks. Put yourself in the players position. You want pics of yourself nude spread everywhere with threats of more? Don't care if she's 17 or not. She has alot of trouble with the truth. Even her parents have disowned her.
