Only if you slipped it into the McPharlin's holy wine.... could Murph and McPharlin have some of the same diet.

Some people really don't like Mundy. With the level of criticism he is getting, I thought I was on the Carlton board for a minute. Hating your own players is normal over there, I thought it was different here.
But seriously, this thread has nothing to do with Mundy anymore. It's all about people arguing with Bradesmaen. I realise people love to hate him, but everybody is just coming off as bad as one another. Most of the criticisms of Mundy are either completely untrue or extremely exaggerated. While the support for Mundy is just coming from one person 'twisting the truth' to support him.
I'd wager that Mundy wouldn't get anywhere near this level of criticism, if Bradesmaen wasn't around for people to bait.

Right Bradey, what myself and my partner saw was a dejected Mundy. HOWEVER so was the other 23 odd players and they we're all mingling and doing the TEAM thing. Mundy was not. I brought up the texting as a point that he wasn't even making eye contact with KIDS that wanted his autograph so they just walked away gingerly. How do you know that he wasnt just so upset at losing? Stop making ridiculous assumptions that you cannot even confirm.
Out of context fool.ok, everytime i see someone texting, i'll say they dont want to be there...![]()
The fans weren't being psycho at all. They clapped when the boys and Harvs appeared and was respectful. What I said was not wrong. It is exactly what was said. Not everyone loves to pander to psycho fans all the time.
Sounds like something you cut and pasted from the beyond blue website. And everyone reacts differently. Some will seclude themselves, others will use people as support.
. Spot on Sel. That was my point exactly. What type of example is he showing to the youngsters of the team? 'We lost therefore I am allowed to sit in a courner and sulk. As young players you must sign autographs?'He's a professional footballer at work. For half an hour or maybe an hour he was required to interact and provide the fans with a little bit of himself. Better he didn't go than behave like he did and if he is told he has to go then behave professionally. If he is unable to do very basic and minimal things that are required of a player then he needs to have a look at himself.
I said who I was having a crack at. Not the ones supporting through thick and thin. I wrote exactly who I was having a crack at. If you can't read, I suggest you enrol in a reading course.
They are paid to play football. Not to sign autographs and pander to psychos.
Thats interesting, I'm quite sure I suggested to you in a thread some time ago about submitting you match reviews to editors to try and get a leg in to sports journalism, apparently you had no time due to University commitments.Poor poor effort.
It's Brades btw, not Braeds, not Brady, just Brades or Bradesmaen.
I see two games a year live, the rest live on Telly (Generally, depemding on C10/C7 being tools). He was one of our best against Port when I was at the ground, you can see his work ethic better high up in the grand stand and it was almost as good as Sandi. Better than Duffield who is very lazy.
Journalism degree? That's funny, because I'm a fully qualified Civil & Structural Engineer. Don't know where you got the Journalism degree from, but that sums up almost the entire board - Making stuff up as you go.
So, well done Poorly, sorry... Polly.
Thats assuming anyone is listening to Braedsy other than those posters who reflexively respond to everything. Braedsy is handicapped by watching very game on TV so doesn't see a lot of off the ball work like the rest of us.I think Mundy gets a lot of unfair criticism, and I can't help but feel that it is primarily due to Bradesmaen. People love to bash him, so that makes Mundy the prime target.
The Sydney game only makes him the more frustrating. He reallly put in at that game. and the one after and then just went back to laconic old Dave. So you have nailed it with consistency.Mundy's work rate has increased this season, and that has lead to an increase in disposals, marks, goals and tackles. I think we have to remember that this is the first season Mundy has played as a full-time midfielder. Consistency is his only problem in my opinion.
But having said that, I don't think he is a midfielder. He should be playing up forward, ala Steve Johnson. He showed against Sydney (?) that he can play forward, give him a shot up front.
I'm waiting for Braedesmans You Tube clip:
"Leave David Mundy Alone" filmed whilst crying under his bedsheets hahaha!
Braeds how many games do you see live each year because I have to say it's a totally different perspective when you can see whats happening off the ball. He cannot make it to contests and genuinely looks like he doesn't want anyone to kick it to him when we are coming of half back because he knows he'll get run down, he is slower than a wet week.
Also I think you need to work harder on your journalism degree mate because your struggling to put forward an unbiased and logical argument here.
I personally think he should be trialled at FF for what it's worth, decent size, good grab and kick. He should be able to string a few 40 metre leads together.
Better than Duffield who is very lazy.
He is defensively lazy. Look at the first quarter when manned up on Leigh Brown. Brown can run a 100m sprint in about 45 seconds, yet he was 20m away from Duffield when he took that mark in the first quarter. Duffield was sleeping like usual. This happened many times at the Port game, where I was in a better position to see things like this. He pays no respect to his opponent. Only the good players like Goddard can get away with it, Duffield is not in that category by a long way. He still kicks lazy at times and makes some bad decisions.I gotta check your IP...best troll ever![]()

I have just got back from Melbourne, watched the game from high in the stands at the G. It was a much different perspective from my normal viewpoint, and when the game was lost I decided to go into Mundy-watch with my mates to provide what turned out to be high comic relief.
Now we had a lot of passengers, but from a senior player what I witnessed was nothing short of a total embarassment. I might summarise:
- Started in the centre square about halfway through the last quarter, and played the rest of the game there. Can't recall any clearances he had a hand in.
- At one point we timed him as taking 4 minutes to leave the vicinity of the centre square. Although he was always the first to set up at the centre bounce after another Collingwood goal.
- Spent 50% of his time walking, 20% standing still, and 30% jogging (otherwise known as sprinting for Mundy) as far away from the ball as possible
- Tried to wander off the ground at one point but was told to stay on and meandered around the wing nowhere near the ball for a few minutes, then went back into the centre when the Pies kicked a goal.
- Not once did he lead hard to provide an option when he was clearly the one who should be doing so considering the space that was around him. Although several times he was quite good at standing and pointing his finger at someone else as a good target. Simply did not want the ball.
- Did not even attempt to find a man, and nobody attempted to man him. Although at one point he found himself opposed to Wellingham, who managed about 3 touches in 20 seconds without Mundy laying a hand on him.
- Completely pulled out of the 3-4 times he could have made a contest. Including a mark he could have taken in the forward line that resulted in an uncontested grab to a defender, and letting a Pies player waltz around him around our defensive 50, resulting in a goal.
- When he finally got a handball near the interchange gates, he managed to take himself off succesfully and looked quite happy to be done for the afternoon
Maybe he was injured, but I very much doubt it. In a highly insipid team effort, his "effort" was the height of insipidness.
David Mundy can be a good player but doesnt realise it yet. I think he is in the ame boat as Steve Johnson was at the end of 2006. He had shown glimpses but his footy wasn't going anywhere fast. He needs a swift kick up the backside and a reality check because he could be a very good attacking wingman but seems to be too comfortable when playing AFL. Every great player has said that once you start to feel comfortable in the way you go about the game then your performance suffers. You need to be doing all the extra stuff and going out in every game not having wasted a minute, knowing that you have done everything within your powers to be match ready for the game.
Not saying he is going to have the same result as Stevie J, because they are two completely DIFFERENT players, but the position that he is playing and/or could play could be done so more effiectively.
