Why no green in AFL guernsey's?

This tone of green would make a really great guernsey:

There are plenty of teams in soccer that wear green like the Celtics as well, there's no clash (unless you make one), easy to see against the turf, fans don't have a problem, as long as it's the above tone of green. t
The only problem is when it's dark green or any dark-ish tone of green which looks like s**t. For some reason, football teams in Australia have a fetish for dark colours and local teams that use green use darker varieties. In order to make green work you have to use a medium-bright green that is visually pleasing to the eye.
Jesus, you go with a pic of Celtic and you choose one with Kenny f*cking Miller! I'll overlook the reference to "wear green like the Celtics"

Celtic have worn a variety of shades of green in their 2nd and third kits and they all look pretty sweet to my biased eyes. So yeah, don't understand why there isn't a single AFL club in green.

I think Giants were going to be “Canberra Raider Lime Green” until the 11th hour. (Thank god sanity prevailed)

Obviously Orange set a trend, look at Carlton and Geelong using Orange in their training gear for example.

They were the Dromana Hoppers at one point, wore green and gold and logo was a boxing kangaroo before they went to green, black and gold and rebranded as the Tigers at some point between 2003 and 2010.

Yep, red and green the way to go (for tassie at least) and yellow as a tertiary.

Like the Basin Bears jumper in the EFL. Traditional and don't think it clashes with any team in particular.
I'd personally inverse the design so that it is predominantly green with green shorts.

Probably been discussed but the broadcasters love of using the ground as a green screen when presenting their graphics would make for fun TV if a team wore Green. There was an AFLX team with green and it would often be keyed out for advertising during some of the games.

Nrl and the A-League both have green jerseys aswell dont know about the other codes like union and NBA
Celtic (Both Boston and Glasgow)
Sassuolo, Sporting CP, St Etienne & Real Betis in Europe
Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen too
Milwaukee bucks

tapping out without google now :)

Green isnt easy to blend with
a Green and White tassie team would be cool though

Most tones of Green are piss weak, too submissive.

The Green Machine St Mary's in the NT have a deep green with yellow emblem and numbers.

Certainly not submissive. Won a ridicukous number of flags. Every other team hates them because they were so successful in the 80', 90's. Thankfylly the comp has evened up over the past 20 yeara.

Was actually just watching a video about how they do the on-field graphics during NFL games, even with a multitude of green teams (Packers, Jets for example). They manage to put graphics and lines on the field that avoid the players.

Basically, they take a huge scan of the ground with no players to map out the true green colour, accounting for the time of day. They have multiple cameras too so they get exactly the right orientation of the lines/graphics.

Rather cool tech!

That is very cool! I didn't think of that.
