Woah, why so negative? the Bombers are going great at the moment and CAN make the top 4 this season. You guys are 5-1 right now, your next 6 games:

v Richmond (W)
v GWS (W)
v Melbourne (W)
v Sydney (W)
v Fremantle (W)

Now those 6 games are winnable, the Freo, Sydney and West Coast games are 50/50 to be being honest but let's say you guys win those 6 games, it'll take you to 11-1, sitting on top probably or 2nd, great chance of finishing in the top 4.

We "should" win one of WC and Syd, potentially both. I am more confident for the Syd game given Crameri/Hurley's worries.

We always struggle v Richmond.

GWS and Melb are in the bank, Freo we should beat, but probably won't.

At worst will be 8-4. I suggest it will be 9-3. It could be 10-2.

Not sure Essendon fear any side anymore. Anzac Day showed that. Played shitful and still nearly pinched it.

At this point in time with no real standout team I'd still rate Essendon a chance for the premiership, just seems to be one of those years where there is very little between the top 8 and I'm tipping it'll remain very tight for the rest of the season.

The game against Freo is at Pattersons so there is a 0 per cent chance that Essendon wins. There's a larger chance that we don't turn up.

Not this year, but we could build a Syd 05 style team if everything goes right. A couple of stars surrounded by a lot of underrated workhorses.

Still 2-3 years away if everything goes right, but winning it this year would be better than '93.

West Coast were 10th. A young Kim Jong Un eyed the throne and Mars bars were slightly bigger.

We finished limping into the finals and leaving in a similar fashion and WCE nearly made it through to the big one. If history tells us anything it tells us nothing is worth speculating too hard on in round 7. Especially about Mars Bars.

And Hawthorn
And maybe even one of Fremantle or St Kilda (but probably not).

It's 2005 again. Or maybe its 1997. Or maybe its 1993.

Any one of the top 6 - 7 teams can, on the day, beat any of the others. This means it its wiiiide open. I would even suggest a team could win it from outside the top 4 this year. That's how weird this year is shaping up to be.

I will wait until about round 11 before commenting on bombers form. They have seemed to come into the last 2 seasons firing on all cyclinders early and faded away late in the year.

To be honest I think we will be 7th. However, each week i am getting surprised.

Second year under a new game plan helps too.

Secondly, Essendon will not win the flag in 2012, we will not even finish top 4.
It's round 6 FFS who cares who Tim Gossage or Hutchy think will win the flag, they've got no better idea than the rest of us.
Eagles deserve to be flag favourties in my opinion; but come GF day, rd 6 favouritism means three fifths of f**k all.

we actually had a slow start to the season we looked like shit in the nab cup then first 3 rounds didnt play that great and looked slow. If you look at some of the things the playing group and coaches said before the start of this year it was that we will not start firing on all cylinders to avoid a burnout being 5-1 doesn't mean we have been playing our best and also saying that if we continue winning the games we should we might be able to rest players mid/late in the year

To be honest, no. I think the Eagles are the best team in the league at the moment but I think that we're both missing our forward lines so anything can happen at the moment. I think this weekend is an exceptionally even game, I love LeCras but I am secretly happy he's not playing, all the best to him in his recovery.
If we beat all of Richmond, Melbourne (convincingly), Fremantle at Patersons AND Adelaide at AAMI, then I am willing to admit we're a chance to win the flag, traditionally we play well against teams we shouldn't beat in Melbourne and we're lacklustre against teams we should. I think that last year Brisbane vs Essendon would have been a much closer game considering our injuries.
Defensively we've improved out of sight, I think that Hibberd and Dempsey are slowly becoming like Enright and Corey, which is bloody exciting.

There's usually one team that sneaks up on everybody and climbs in to the top 4, this year it could be Essendon.

If they get the double chance then you never know what could happen, but I wouldn't like their chances if they finished 3rd or 4th and happened to play West Coast in the first week of the finals.

Last three rounds will be telling, Carlton, Richmond and Collingwood. A genuine threat goes 2-1 at worst, a pretender goes 0-3 and limps in en Elimination Final.

And no, highly doubt we are winning the flag, but every supporter of every club is allowed to hope or expect to.

Will they win the flag? No, apparently Carlton will win it. Or was it Hawthorn, or West Coast? Don't remember, but it wasn't Essendon.

They won't even make the top 4, as I was assured by the BF consensus after round two that Collingwood, Geelong, Hawthorn and Carlton had the top 4 sewn up, with West Coast next.

They could finish 6th, though, if they get past Sydney.
