Will Essendon win the Flag ?

Essendon always fly out the gates, become poor mid season, stumble into the finals and eventually get embarrassed in the first final. With the current crop of players I can't see them making a preliminary final let alone winning a gf. This is a list seriously lacking in top end talent. It is an honest list that will not fill the gulf in talent between them and the top 4-5 sides. Hird should be commended for getting an average side to perform the way it is ATM though

Sounds a bit like what everyone was saying about your list at the end of 2009 and even at the start of 2010 don't you think?

I don't think we will win the flag this year and doubt we will even be top 4, however you have a short memory if you think we always fly out of the gates, become poor mid season and get embarrassed in the first final. Has really only happened twice in the last decade.

always? historcally they win premierships though? 16 of them, so if we are drawing massive conclusions from the past then one should presume they are a big chance.

Didn't think that being called Tulla was much more than a slap with a wet lettuce. We are going to be training out there, and it's not far from Essendon anyway. And North are training in North. Hardly bite-worthy bait, but then I don't have good people skills (I miss the obvious). :)

I actually refer to them as 'East Melbourne' but I go back a bit.

In terms of are they a flag threat ?

Yes, they are and also they think they are as well.

Given their great opening 6 rounds, they will go into most games as favourites.

Will be interesting to see how they cope with being the 'hunted' now not the 'hunters'.

Is this thread a joke?

There's no way that Tulla will win the flag this year.

Really? Why? Tullamarine are sitting 5th on the ladder with 3 wins and 1 loss. They are coming off inflicting a 190 point belting on Jacana, with a 53 point smashing of flag contenders Taylors Lakes just two weeks ago

;)

NO CHANCE

will be flogged this week.

6-8th. Top 4 next year. Flag 2014. Nothing surer.

Other clubs will improve too you know.Richmonds kids will be men in 2014.

It will not be a one way street.

Veruca will not have it all her way.

Will they have some sort of ceremony to mark the occasion? I hope there is no surgery involved, and, if so, the guy has a steady hand or else he may get the sack!

This entire thread has been designed as a pre-emptive troll.

If Essendon lose, this thread will be bumped as if an Essendon supporter claimed we were a chance at a flag.

But you only have to hear it from the supporter's mouths to know that it's all BS and we'll be hoping to win a final let alone a god damn premiership.

Beat WCE and it'll be nothing but sign of good form - finals or flags are not won in May.

Who did Carlton have out?

Essendon's injury list has been horrific.

That excuse holds no weight whatsover this weekend.

We lost Carrazzo and Laidler inside the first five minutes and Yarran became usless early on because he injured his foot (and is still out because of it).
These injuries are not an excuse, just answering your question.

We lost to Essendon because we had no third man overlap or hard running to space all day. It was by far our worst effort for a long time, I doubt we will play that poorly in our return bout in round 21.

It definitely impacts, but last year we had two ACLs in the 1st quarter and grinded a draw
