Will was told to wait until next year and play a year in the bullants. That way we didnt give two picks under the father son rule and lose a potentially better player. Still very light and needs to fill out.

will never play for the carlton footabll club...i hate to be harsh tho these are the facts

agree. Not much use taking father and son for sentimental reasons. It's backfired fired in past. Robert Wall's son

What position does he play or is he potentially going to slot into ?
I saw him about 5 months or so ago on the news when he trained with blackwell.
But he looked slim & not overly tall.

if you read the post correctly dropkick i didn't say they were not interested in him. He trained with thim during the year so they obviously showed some interest. But they were not prepared to draft him unless he was good enough. Good move i reckon. I don't care whose son it is. If SOS' sons turn out to be duds in 10 years time i hope we don't draft them for sentimental reasons. Not every son of a former champion is going to good enough at AFL level.

Well half-wit,that wasnt what you said in the first place. And your definatly RIGHT about the last sentence, but that still doesnt stop 'em though does it,eg the Cornes Brothers.

And what's wrong with the O' Halpins?.And i was saying that the Cornes bros were a example of sons of former football stars not necessarily being champions.

What did i suppose to have said in the first place space cadet. My argument has been clear all along. We shouldn't take father and son players for sentimental reasons. I'm glad we didn't take Fitzpatrick if he wasn't good enough. No harm in giving him a chance to prove himself. I never once said we weren't interested in him.

I still don't understand your argument about the Cornes Brothers. They are both excellent players. Their dad was one of the best footballers in his time in South Australia. Chad and Kayne weren't taken father and son anyway? if they were it has definately paid off for Port.

You either quoted the wrong poster or have gone off on some weird tangent. Either way you are wrong in attacking Kooley. This is a Blues forum, contribute ... don't just criticise.

1-But i thought the reason for Father and Son was to encourage Sons to play for the same team that their father did,so sentiment has a part.OK ,i'll accept your arguement that the team needs to let Fitzpatrick's son prove himself.
2-Not sure about that. And well it probably has,but not according to SOME port supporters.

He is skinny but is about 189-190cm, which isn't huge but it isn't small.

He's 191, taller than his Dad by a cm, don't forget height standards on ruckman have gone up in recent years.

Got a wee bit of inside on this one - Will did very well in VCE - congrats to him.

Needs to put some on the body, did nominate for the draft and clearly hasn't been picked up so bad luck to him but hopefully he can develop and be a good pickup next year. I do hope he does take the Bullants offer.
