Among all the hysteria of bigfooty you'd think Watts was the worst player selected in AFL drafting history

Yes, his 3 games were very unmemorable. Yes he wasn't ready. Yes Rich, Naita, Zeibell and Hurley showed a ton more etc...

But are you prepared to write off Jackie boy or do you think he'll turn into a good reliable forward for the Dees who will kick his 50 per year?

Bigfooty definitely isn't the most reliable source to find out whether a player is good or not. Watts will be a very good, if not, exceptional player. He just needs to bulk up and develop a bit.

Ill probably get flamed for saying this, but for those of you who remember, his not too disimillar to a young Nick Riewoldt. Shore hes got a long way to go, and if he turns out to be half the player Riewoldt is, then Melbourne will be fine.
Riewoldt was also very awkward looking, he had height but no size, and looked almost lanky.
Give him afew preseasons in the gym and Watts will grow into his body and be able to take a big contested mark.

I'm sure a number 1 pick in a good draft has something going for him. Haven't seen him except for his AFL games, but I would be suprised if he turned out to be a dud. It seems some people can't seperate Bay13 from genuine opinions.

The club is looking at a playing weight of 92kgs at the end of this coming preseason, and 95kgs from his 3rd season onwards. As he fills out and gains experience, he will be a very good player. His smarts, agility and skill level are fantastic, and at worst he will be a decent-good player. At best he will be one of the best in the competition.

Good God man. Over 16 years he has the third fastest 20 metre time ever at DC and came second only to Stephen Hill last year at the agility test. He's no Kosi.
