Hey just wondering how this kid going after that injury?.. broken leg or something pretty serious if i remember correctly.

I remember watching him and thinking man he'll be a gun. If i remember correctly he plays CHB or something along those lines.

Please correct me if im wrong somewhere

He had a knee reco (the worst type as well) and is progressing steadily. He has stated that he will be physically ready by round 1, but to get back to his best and break into the side it could take a few weeks.

Nobody is expecting much of him next year, but he has put on some muscle which will no doubt help him.

I think the reason he will struggle to get a game for a while is because he seems like the type of player who can run all day. I mean, he made Nick Riewoldt his bitch before getting injured, so one of his strengths must be endurance - something that would take time to rebuild.

All in all though he's going well :D Still training outside the main group but will be ready by round 1

yeh.....the pleasing thing I remember about Thursfield is that he looked like he thought his way through passages of play....

His proactive play, where he initiated play instead of just reacting to his opponent, makes him more exciting than the run-of-the-mill backman...

Backmen like that are hard to find, or should I say, guys who are willing to play in the backline like that, are hard to find.

Hopefully we will play it smart and rest him until the second half of the year.

Will's injury is the main reason why we kept Gaspar in my opinion.

You can play will on some of the smaller Forwards and let him get into his game and play Gas against the gorillas (Barry Hall, Etc etc)
