Not sure with the negativity surrounding the crowd noise, thought it was good myself.
Freo chant was loud and proud on a few occasions, granted the Power support was good though.

I would like to add props to Morabito for his behaviour at the game today. I was outside at half time and he walked out the gate to go somewhere else and he was accosted every metre by someone wanting a selfie or an autograph. He was unfailingly courteous and polite to everyone and particularly one little boy whose dad asked him to sign a footy, got down on his knees talking to the kid and spent a minute or so with him. Must be hard sometimes doing all the public stuff when you aren't getting to strut it onfield but he was great.

I sign up to the afl live pass for hd replays but it is available in standard def on the website without the live pass.
It's under the video tab but if you can't find it google 'afl smart replay'.

cheerz think i'll watch this before the F1 tonight

I think for the Freo crowd their was an air of expectation. This was our first test since breaking the duck and I know a lot (me included) were pensive before and during the game. It wasn't until the 4th quarter that I realised I still had a voice because I hadn't been yelling and cheering.

Having said that, Port's cheersquad were excellent, one of the louder in recent years.

thats it, you've nailed the vibe exactly. Or at least how I felt too :)

Negative - 1st pick long gone, 3rd-4th under threat... The way we're going we're gonna end up with 9th pick!! :(:(:(

I have this feeling as well. Part of me wishes we could get this improvement with our youth... without you know... being too good that we miss out on a top-3 pick. I know this mentality puts our culture at risk so I'm a bit ambivalent about it anyhow.

Tucker and Weller couldn't get a sniff...although a few times Tucker could've been hit up but they chose other options.

Barlow was immense. Robbie Grey got petrol poured on him, got set on fire, then Mick pulled out a firehose wang and urinated on him to put the fire out.

Clarke's tap work was great but until the last he was poor in the contest.

Mayne and Walters improved again, and Ballantyne was solid.

Dawson got a belting from Dixon.
Collins was swinging from back to forward as needed.

What has happened to Stephen Hill? He was horrid for the most part
Dawson got belted? Dixon 1 goal and 8 possessions. Dawson had more marks and possessions himself. Would give him A- for his job alone.

Dixon should've had 3 goals but he stunk up his kicks. He out pointed Dawson numerous times.

I just watched the game, as I only caught it on the radio yesterday. My thoughts:

Barlow - was fantastic, particularly in the 3rd, when the game hung in the balance. Really stood up, hero time style.
Pav - today was vintage from the Super Pav. I wish there was a way we could make him younger so we can keep him for a few more years. He'll be so sorely missed around the club, on field and off.
Blakely - did not hit the lofty heights of the last two games, but worked into it in the last and was responsible for a few good plays
Suban - actually played well. Was it just me or was he a bit more involved in the back half for our defensive transition?
Mayne - has finally worked his way into form playing as an attacking defensive forward playing as third tall. I think we'll need him to stay.
Hill - down on form and confidence, not sure where his laser boot went - but definitely stood up and was counted in the last quarter. I really hope he finds his mojo again.
Lachie Neale - PLEASE STAY.
Lachie Weller - a bit quiet this game, but still pretty dangerous when he bobbed up. Always tackles and chases with intent.

It was great to know that we've improved and that the last two games weren't just due to having sub-AFL competition. There were still quite a few horrendous turnovers and long bombs to impossible contests, but we were able to maintain the intensity and concentration to prevent a run-on - although Port's bad kicking helped with that somewhat. To be fair, we were so dominant in the first half that we really should have been further ahead and we really should have also put them away 10 minutes from the final siren if we had converted our chances in front.

All in all it was a great win, particularly considering where our season is at and where Port's season was at. They had everything to play for but we just wanted the win more - and got it. Surely this puts all suggestions of tanking to bed once and for all.

Would be the least impact Dixon has had on a game all season.

I can't comment on whether this is true or not, as I don't watch many Port games, but does that guy own the worst case of exaggerated bum fluff in the history of the AFL?

I had Petrevski Seton written in as ours only a few weeks ago. :(

The media felt the same.

AFL season 2016: Sam Petrevski-Seton a 'must sign' for Dockers ."

I even watched a few of his videos in preparation for what we'd get from him next year.

A few phantom drafts on the Drafts Board have SPS going at Pick 7 which could very much still be ours given we have games to come against Geelong, Sydney, GWS, and Bulldogs.

On topic though - great game, more please.

Taberner had a 'quiet' game yet still managed far better stats then the overrated Dixon. Dawson isn't going to win 1-on-1 most times, but he shut him down most times in the air. Solid job given other teams have a spare defender to help.

Watched the whole game for the first time last night. Interesting stuff. Certainly is proof we've improved, but Port are sitting mid table and that's the quality of game they gave us. If they had have brought their game from last week against the Doggies, I reckon they would have rolled over us. Still that's all hypothetical hot air - fact is we outplayed a solid team for the vast majority of the day. Two thoughts on couple of players:

Pav's performance proved the value in actually resting vets when they have niggles etc. rather than just talking about it which is pretty much what we did the last few years (and in fairness what most clubs do who are going for broke).

And Barlow ... what a fantastic game. He really is a great footy player, a plain and simple good footy player. Surely there's a place in this team for him over the next 2-4 years.
