Media Wonders Sign Lease for Bainlea

Just to the west of Sweet is a small regional suburb that goes by the name of ‘Bainlea’. The history of the suburb has been lost in time but former residents understand that the name comes from a horror short story, ‘The Hidden Webpage’.

Bainlea is nothing like the bustling municipality of Sweet or even its Yuana neighbour, Rhilpisa, the home of Renown Park. It’s instead a small rural getaway, peaceful and surrounded by forest, a perfect place to escape the pressure of the media obligations in the Sweet F.A and focus on what is important, playing good Qooty and making friends along the way.

The West Coast Wonders FFC are pleased to announce that they have come to a deal with Mobbs Real Estate to sign a lease that includes Bainlea Oval and its facilities for season 37 and beyond.

The lease is also rumoured to include the abandoned Bainlea Summer Camp which is located across the way from the oval. A place that was once used for the children of Sweet to escape during their summer holidays that has since been disused and has become worse for wear.

It is unconfirmed at this time in what capacity the Wonders will use this summer camp or if it was just thrown in as a deal sweetener.

The Wonders are set to share the oval with the Bainlea-Rhilpisa Road Qootball Club.

Ben Johnson, the president of the Qootball Club said: “We welcome the Wonders to the Bainlea area as we head into our ninth season since our merger and second season since joining the Yuana Plains Football League”.

“The Wonders are a historic club in the Sweet F.A and we are excited to see what they will bring to the region and the connections we can create between our club and theirs”.

We don’t expect that the Wonders will use Bainlea Oval as their home ground but rather a ‘home away from home’.
Tradies have been seen moving into the area in recent days.

Rhilpisa Road were known as the Great Hares, before merging with Bainlea. Bainlea were the Poodles. The merged entiry, the Bainlea-Rhilpisa Road club, are the Hunters.
Finally the world knows the truth! I've been saying it all along ... qooty is in my blood. Hunters isn't a bad name tbh but nothing beats the Poodles. Famous for their freakish athleticism and ME first mentality, they were a sight to behold.

If you're after facilities you have joined the wrong team, the Wonders still haven't finished building at their home ground

Our facilities inside 'The Colosseum' is still one of the best in the league and will serve us well while the tradies of Sweet work hard in Bainlea.

You have enough players at the OOBs, share 'em around! You bastards should nearly be at capacity by now.
We have closed the books for this season, anyone that wants to play at Spotswood can put their name down and enter a ballot for season 38.

It isn't out fault the place is heritage listed now and we can't touch the bastard!!!
Actually, that's true.

Although there are three buildings in the Municipality of Sweet which predate the Colosseum, they actually predate the gazetting of the region as the home of Sweet in the first place. The first clubroom at what would later become the Colosseum is the first building built in the original project to establish Sweet in the area.
