I'd say if you're part of a team that has lost two grand finals by 60+ points in three years, then you're amongst some of the worst grand final performers about regardless of standing in the game otherwise.

Yeah that’s a great point with the benchmark. I think Amartey is one of the worst players I have ever seen and had one of the worst grand finals ever but he still runs rings around Aaron Keatings career and grand final performance haha.

Listening to Max Gawn on a podcast the day before the GF, he actually said of any team to lose their main key ruck Brissy is best placed - he rates Fort as the best second ruck in the comp (although personally I'd say Freo might pip them having both Darcy and Jackson).

Tom McCartin has had two nightmare Grand Finals, I feel a bit sorry for the bloke.

Somehow or another the Swans believe he's a key back. Really he's a good honest third back like a Ryan Lester .

So not really his fault but very dubious list management.

Fort is the reason you have a decent backup option on case your main ruck gets injured. Mature body more than capable of being competitive. Been around a long time.
