"He was one of the most controversial superstars in history of sports entertainment, through his complicated relationship with Miss Elizabeth, his dramatic WWE championship tournament run at WrestleMania IV, the formation and explosive breakup of the MegaPowers with Hulk Hogan, his reign as the Macho King, and his shocking jump to WCW. “Macho Man” Randy Savage brought a chaotic poetry to the ring. He’s widely considered one of the finest in-ring competitors of all time, and his interviews were always a sight to behold. For the first time ever, fans can relive the entire storied career in Macho Madness: The Ultimate Randy Savage Collection, a 3-DVD set that spans two decades of exciting and intense matchups."

From JR's latest blog.

From what I have heard, Matt Striker and Maria did the on cameras for the June release of the Macho Man Randy Savage DVD release which features 3 disc's of Savage's best bouts. Simply by looking at the match compilation, this seems as if it will be an excellent DVD for Macho Man fans who have been clamoring for a Savage DVD from WWE for years. Striker particularly knows the impressive history of Randy Savage and I am sure we will get some unique "nuggets of wisdom" from Mr. "I Hate Pronouns" who rivals the King as one the WWE's most skilled "ladies men."

I've got both. Austin's follows a format of documentary -> significant match(es) -> documentary and so on. It's quite good as an overview of Austin's career with all the important stuff, as well as his comments on everything. Rock's has no real documentary to it and he doesn't appear, so it's just matches with a voice-over leading in to each one. The matches are again all the important stuff from his career and a number of funny interviews. They're both worth it IMO.

According to some sources ... Production has started on a "Rise & Fall of WCW" DVD. No release date as yet but I'm told they hope to ship before the end of the year. Given how the WWE likes to spin history this should be one of the most interesting documentaries they have ever produced.

I'm already pumped!

Why do I get the feeling they will absolutely rip into them in that section? :D

I hope Bischoff is involved for the documentary. It will be a major disappointment if he isn't. They've lost most of their former WCW talent from the active roster as well, but you'd expect to see Jericho, Mysterio, Regal and Big Show on there commenting. Plus Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Malenko, Arn Anderson, Blanchard, Steamboat, maybe Hogan, and Gerald Brisco to remind us "we beat the hell outta ya" as he did on Monday Night Wars. ;)

Seriously looking forward to it though. I ****ing loved WCW.

Rey Mysterio: Behind the Mask
no cover art found yet.

WWE will be releasing “Rey Mysterio: Behind the Mask” on November 10th of this year, written by Jeremy Roberts. The book will have 368 pages. Here’s the official preview for the book:

Exploding onto the wrestling scene in the mid-1990s, the colourfully masked Rey Mysterio quickly redefined the way the game was played in the ring. Making an immediate impact with his fast-paced style, Mysterio is on the cutting edge of wrestling excellence, and has four WWE Tag Team Championships, eight Cruiserweight Championships, and a World Heavyweight Championship to prove it. His small size in comparison to other wrestlers (he is 5ft 6ins and weighs 175lb) only makes his achievements all the more extraordinary. Now, Rey goes behind the mask to talk about his sensational wins, his ability to defy the odds, and his resilience to battle back from the worst of times. The full story of one of wrestling’s best-loved personalities is told here in a book no fan will want to be without.

Is the release date for australia? cos i know that WWE - Greatest Stars of the 90s is out in the States already...
