That is a big list but not unusual given the turmoil in local football over the 5 seasons. It is now about bringing through their juniors which will take a little time

A few of those names were coming to the back end of their careers and had earnt the right to top up their supers in the minor country comps.

How does my original comment of “ a club down on the Bellarine “ point the finger at all country clubs? Of course Turbo is right and if this is your club well wake up . Take their 3 highest paid , salary cap gone .

Not discounting that but the facts are someone more cashed up than most has bank rolled this club to a level that more honest clubs can’t compete with . Hardworking? Probably, but cheating? Absolutely.

Portarlington, a club that’s won maybe 30 games in 30 years and finished bottom 2 nearly every one of them years has suddenly become flush with cash? Who’s the white knight?

The bull who left, went to a lower standard after giving their best to Altona. Not much in it I think

Post and Robbins hadn’t played for a season or two had they?

No one played in 2020 and 2021 was a wipe out. No they hadn't but both gave enormous service to Altona when they were there and are finishing off their football at a lower level. Most on the list are the same, normal generational change possibly increased by the Covid years

Just an honest question do you think that the Altona position is purely on field, they have had some changes off field and stability at the highest level has been fluid over the last few years, Coaching structure has not changed much and to be honest I felt they were easy to play against and prepare from the opposion perspetive.

Club is going through change in list profile and obviously lots of change off field, top 5 is a reasonable target for them this year.

Slo-mo action from last week's Werribee Districts v Hoppers Crossing seniors & Reserves games:

InterLeague game against SFNL is on next Saturday 17th May to be played in Werribee ... as far as I know ...... BUT you wouldn't know about it. No mention on the WFNL website with only 8 days to go. Come on WFNL - publicise the game so people can plan ahead!! Hope to get a good crowd turning up but not if people don't know about it.

Anyone else have some info about this event?
Will all teams have a bye?
Will Div 2 still play?

Albion and Altona have both had good starts to the season, are both 3-1, and both have big games tomorrow.

Altona at home to WD Will show if the A's are in the hunt, think WD by 30, might go and have a look. Albion at CS, also a big test, CS by 25.

Interested to see how Newport go at YSE too.

Point Cook lost to Hoppers Crossing by 4 points a few weeks ago and now lose to Sunshine. Is it a sign of division 1 being ultra competitive or of a very inconsistent Point Cook?

Don’t think it is issue of junior numbers with PCFC, they have 20 Junior teams plus 2 x u18s. Think it might be inexperience which can cause inconsistency. Have a few injuries to experience players.
They have had young players leave to other clubs who have offered bags of cash, sone Div 2, not sure why you would go and play Div 2 when you can play Div 1 but cash does have a big say

Good luck with that. Clearances haven’t been updated since 31st March
