yarran V sidebottom

Stats say Sidey upside says Yarran, il go with Yarran because at my club we've already got plenty of midfielders, and his role could be to give them a break, Sidebottom i find is a little slow, great poise and i am a fan of him, but i believe that Yarran will benefit carlton more, than sidebottom, each to their own but.

yeah you cant really rate yarran on his first year, some kids do well and some kids dont, so the stats i posted dont mean all that much.

rusty on his first year, but yarran on potential and his skills at training can be sublime! yarran at the blues as we have plenty of mids, think ruusty will be a solid player thou

Jake King's disposal at training is sublime.

Sidebottom atm.

this poll is like an insult to sidebottom.
side is almost 8 months to a year younger than yarran and was tearing dem apart in the vfl last year. while yarran dint show much even in the wafl. they say when yarran is "on" he is terrifically talented, but he is rarely on.

sidebottom is among the top 5 best prospects from 2008
this kid is goin 2 be a superstar

Sidebottom best on ground in a very intense semi final.

Yarran wouldn't get best on ground playing against his aunty.
His Aunty would be faster than Sidebottom and the rest of your mids.

If we had your overpaid and overrated spud recruiters, we'd draft flash in the pans like Dale Thomas because they played well in the TAC Cup final.

Derek Hine finalises his rankings by looking at BF's draft board and Inside Football.

Don't let facts get in the way of a poor troll.

Sidebottom is just 13 days younger than Yarran who kicked 39 goals in 13 WAFL games.

Kane Lucas and Dustin Martin are just six and five months older than Yarran.

Sidebottom and Beams are about as likely to be superstars as Cloke, Anthony, Swan, O'Bree, Shaw, Ball, Maxwell and Pendlebury.

The Pies are a well coached and well drilled team, yet they have stuff all elite talent to help them go all the way when it matters.

Collingwood were the only finalist who didn't have a superstar or future superstar on their list.

Oh really? Is that why he took Beams at 29?
Or Pendlebury at 5?
Rusling with a second rounder?

We'll draft slow players if they're smart and skillful. You don't need to be fast if you're a step ahead of players like Yarran. Sidebottom played better in an AFL final than Yarran played in a VFL final. That sums it up nicely actually.

I honestly would take Yarran, he looks like he has a lot more upside to me, has some good pace and is skillful, but didn't get much of an opportunity, Sidebottom isn't a bad player but I think he will be just a good honest midfield workhorse

Sidebottom is going to be a very, very good player in the league for a long time.

Yarran will be a breakout star.

However, at this point its (to me) comparing a young Leon Davis with a young Luke Ball.

Who do you prefer? The Neon Leon's of the league can at their best can win you a game. At their worst they'll cost you as many as they win (Pies probably would have won that 2002 GF had Collingwood even had an average player in Davis's spot). The Luke Ball's of the world are good solid goers who will contribute to but not individually win you games.

I think Carlton have enough of the second sort on their list and are in need of the match turner. Whereas Collingwood now really have a list of Luke Balls. Not that the latter is a bad thing (as it'll get you to the Finals consistently) but when it comes crunch time and requiring someone who can offer you that brilliance there are only a couple of players on that Collingwood list who can turn it on. Still, both players are good selections for their teams (in my opinion).

At this point in time I think Carlton still takes Yarran and Collingwood still take Sidebottom (out of the two). Both teams would be pleased and each has a right to feel that way.

Yarran plays baseball, Sidey plays elite football.

Wouldn't take Yarran with a 5th rounder.

Stop laughing at your own posts Sunny. We know that even you understand how ridiculous your own posts are, but to laugh at every single one of them is insane.

LOL and people selecting Yarran due to 'potential'.

LOL.

Potential is dominating a semi-final against a rampaging Crows outfit.

Potential IS NOT languishing in the VFL reserves, being lazy and unaccountable, and going walkabouts to your home state every second week. Yarrans only highlight is a regulation kick from 20 metres out directly in front. It had the Carlton muppets in hysterics for around 4 months. :thumbsu:

I suppose I could replace them with the irresistible wit displayed above.

Pretty embarrassing thread collingwill.

Sidebottom - future superstar of the AFL.

Yarran - Possible goal scab if he can get into the senior side.

If Yarran played for Cololingwood you'd all say he's the next big thing. Just like most of you think Anthony is more than an average forward.

At least we only see him becoming a potential game breaker.

Don't think so, he would be another Richard Cole.

What a funny poll. Apart from the obvious Carlton supporters, Yarran isn’t in the same league. Carlton supporters are still trying to come to terms with and justify letting either one of Rich, Vickery, Ziebell or Sidebottom slip by.
