Haha there might be a little tall poppy syndrome going round but it's not hard to dislike Carey and I think your excuse above is a poor one. You saying he's a good bloke? Fact is the world would be a better place without the Wayneker Carey type about. ANd it's not only the Kelli Stevens thing, most of us would give a guy one or two chances (even though that was a mighty one) but he's proved time and time again he's a very average guy. Would never want to have to rely on him to even just buy milk.

One of the best players i've seen to have played the game. Apart from Ablett, no one used to dominate a game like he did.

As for the latest issue, i think he could of let it go and got on with his life. Perhaps telling his daughter when she is old enough would've been enough.

My thoughts on him as a player will never change, i don't have any thoughts on his issues because at the end of the day the bloke is human and we've all made mistakes.

Great player. Probs the best ive seen. As for his personality i would have no idea as i havnt met the bloke and until i start hanging out with him semi-regularly i dont really care what he is like. Hes a great football player dont care what he does in his personal life unless it affects me.

Yes he's done some shit things in his personal life, however if you cheat with someone, both are to be held accountable, so he's not the only guilty one responsible for that marriage breakdown.

Anyway, greatest centre half forward i've ever seen, in a day where forwards didn't receive anywhere near as much help as they do today. Great hands, great strength, great pace for his size, terrific set shot and kick on the run, terrific ability to slot goals from all angles. He was the prototype CHF.

It's a valid question. West did the same thing that Carey did, yet West is revered and Carey is a pariah.

Why does Carey attract a million more times attention? Because it helps supporters of other sides vent their angst at the floggings he handed out to their respective clubs. That is the only logical conclusion.

Mario is correct, this Kelli Stevens situation is something that only cowards and self appointed moral arbiters hide behind.
