Hi there, after some help re parking. Does anyone now which is the closest CBD carpark that doesn't get completely full on match day? My wife is driving to the game this Saturday and will likely be arriving after bouncedown. Proximity a bigger factor than cost for us. Cheers.

Question for any general admission heads.

I'm thinking about getting the bronze 3 game membership to save some money going to the last few games. Problem is I have a bad back, that only allows me to stand in one spot for around 20 minutes. Are there any places I can lean against stuff or get a cheeky spot to sit?

Thanks in advance

Hi guys, looking to take my Nan to the footy on Saturday and I am just wondering if it's only members that can purchase reserved seating? I am usually happy perched on the hill but she definitely won't be able to do that. Any help would be much appreciated.

The corner of the hill, scoreboard side, has a railing around it that you could lean against. You'd wanna get there early to secure a spot.

A 'friend of mine' with a bronze membership often goes up into the southern stand and generally finds himself a seat behind the goals about 2/3 of the way up if he gets sick of standing. He tells me they don't check to make sure you have a seated ticket.

Havent been for a few weeks, but try under the casino, pretty much the closest park right at the end of the bridge and only $8, had no problems with spaces when ive been there.

I'm coming over for the game on Saturday and will be heading straight to the airport after the game. Where is the best place to catch a Taxi?

Don't know about best as I have only done it once but we went to the taxi rank on Grenfell and got one relatively fast even with someone in front of us.

Another great effort to sell the West Coast Game out with four days to spare, and the Richmond game is already nearly sold out as the club has said there are only single seats available 2 1/2 weeks before the game (this will be our last night game of the year).

If we can get 50000 or more to the game on Saturday and Collingwood get 35-38000 against Port at the G on Sunday then our average home crowds will only be separated by a couple of thousand (48,000 us - 50000 them).

saw a pic of facey from last nights hall of fame dinner of all the inducties names on the scoreboard

the thing that stood out for me is how the hill looks! it's completely bare now. no grass at all

you'd hope something will be done about that next season

Yep, even when I was there a few weeks ago for crows training, it was looking pretty poor.

It's generally used for 1 test match, 1 ODI and t20 games. Now it's practically full every single week.

Perhaps they need more solid grass? They'll surely re-do at the end of this season.

very lucky we haven't had a massively wet night for footy yet. i'd imagine that'd turn into a quogmire very quick

Fake grass a possibility?

How about a stand?

That would enable us to increase the capacity of AO compared to AAMI, not move to the city for bigger crowds and have a stadium that has the same capacity.
You'd lose some atmosphere though

i can see in time if it becomes an issue them using that rubber stuff (not a solid mat but kind of a series of rings so you can see through it but keeps traffic from directly impacting it) over the top of it at games. Maybe even only for wet games but maybe always to keep it in better shape.

Means it wouldn't be good to sit on (so no good for cricket) but for a footy game its be suitable, even if it was only used in front of the scoreboard and not on the "family" hill (especially for games with smaller crowds as people could still sit there in some cases)
