Phillipou could be a total bust or the best of the class. Will be very interested to see how he goes in the first year.

Can a good man please advise where I can watch vic metro vs vic country replay?

I doubt hes doing too much in his first year outside of the VFL

And if he is, then id say hes on track to being a gun
I'm going the opposite - he plays as a high forward all year and plays really well. He's not midfield ready but he'll be AFL ready Round 1.

Feel free to revisit and taunt me if it doesn't work out

Especially in the Bombers' forwardline. They're not going to have 7 blokes holding him out of the team.

Look might depend a bit on 22 or 23 man squads

I hope we arent too slow and big forward

We will already have Wright, H.Jones, Weideman and Stringer id imagine. We need the other 3 guys to be small, crumbing, pressure applying forwards. Tippa will be one.

My forward 7 is probably Wright, H.Jones, Weideman, Stringer, Perkins, Hobbs, Tippa

Id rather see him get as much time onball in the VFL and no doubt he will get a few games here and there at the top level through injury and form

Does anyone know if there is a way to listen to audio version of the Draft coverage on the AFL website? I am working during the draft and I would prefer to listen to the AFL version rather than the SEN if I can.

Anything from you guys eDPS, PMBangers and Pie 4 Life?

Does anyone think it is a big risk taking Tasmania kids like Cowan etc
in the next few drafts?

You just know the new franchise is going to come hard for them in a few years.
They'll juice the compensation if they need to, you'd think a club would back their culture in to keep them around if they take them on. Cowan is a Davenport/Launceston boy from memory, it's not like it would be his hometown team.

Not really. Those who say the risk is to great, are over guessing it. If a Tasmanian team gets up, it will still be a fair few years away from happening. Still needs a lot more paper work, long term planning and probably a stadium before they are included. Maybe for the future picks closer to the time there will be a greater risk of them leaving yes. But ones like Cowan this year, clubs will get a minimum 5 years from them.

And if Cowan becomes a star, you will likely win out as you can get back more than what you gave up for him. Especially since the new Tasmanian team will be given a lot of draft concessions and picks. At the very worst you will probably get a simular pick back.

If Cowan is at our second round pick. I would take him in a heart beat. Seems the mature headed type, who in the right culture will settle in well and be happy to hang about. He is a good player, with good attributes. Would be silly to pass up. There is an equal risk of WA, SA players wanting to go home, yet we still draft them. Why would Tasmanians be any different? Yeah the new team will definitely come hard for Tasmanian players. But as I said, its a long way away from happening yet.

A week or two ago I had Phillipou falling to us. Now I can't see him going passed ess and Hawks if picks stay the same.
