Rumors are strong that Chris Burgess is shopping himself around for more AFL opportunties

What we saw from Demons last night and surely Burgess is a 100% lock to the Demons, along with Chol as a replacement for the Ben Brown/Brodie Grundy duo who havnt been able to perform this year

What is his worth? With his better VFL form and better contract I think its 20-30 range. Given the Gold Coasts position a F1st rounder from Demons for both Chol/Burgess could be the deal done

SUN TO SEEK NEW HOME

Gold Coast key forward Chris Burgess is expected to look for a new home during the off-season after winning back-to-back Jim 'Frosty' Miller Medals.
The 27-year-old is contracted at the Suns in 2024, but it is understood the South Australian will explore a fresh start after being starved of opportunities across the past two seasons, managing only three AFL appearances despite dominant form in the reserves.
Two clubs have shown genuine interest in Burgess, with a couple of others keeping tabs on the West Adelaide product.
Adelaide has maintained an interest in Burgess since he joined Gold Coast along with Josh Corbett as a pre-draft selection at the end of 2018, while St Kilda has also kept tabs at different times. Brisbane, Richmond, West Coast and Hawthorn are other clubs considering key forwards this off-season.
Gold Coast is believed to be open to keeping Burgess, but the Suns are stacked with key forward depth and likely to offload some players to help acquire the draft points required to secure the four academy products they want to select in November, including underage star Jed Walter who is expected to play plenty of senior football under Damien Hardwick next year.

I think Demons for sure and with Demons extreme desperation for forward help it creates a 28-36 to instead be that 20-28 situation. Given both are contracted I think Gold Coast just hold steady and only take a higher end deal

He'd have the same value as Fergus Greene. Similar goal kicking output at VFL level in 2022. Both undersized as a KPP and probably more suited as a 3rd tall. Both probably not AFL standard level footballers.

Talks of a pick in the 20-30 range is ridiculous.

huh? weideman trade? its not just pick 29 hawks get a slight down grade for a best 22 player,

In what world is a bloke who didn't fire a shot against one of the worst sides in AFL history a best 22 player.

I like Burgess but he's a VFL player and there's nothing wrong with that. He is not best 22 for the Hawks.

He'd be a handy depth option but no one is shopping around a pick in the 20s for depth.

Parfit has proven AFL form behind him, Burgess doesn’t.
Thats the concerning part

Parfitt has proven he isnt up to AFL level. Burgess just hasnt had the opportunity to show it one way or the other.

In saying that Parfitts value is still 35-50 this season and then Burgess is more because he is a tall forward who are drastically short in supply this off-season

Top 30 pick for a 28 year old key forward who has played 30 odd games in 5 seasons and averages less than half a goal per game, is surely a piss take?

Suns will receive a token late pick because he's contracted. They can't possibly realistically expect anything more than that.

Parfitt’s a premiership player that’s played many games for side the consistently played finals.

Burgess is an undersized VFL key forward that can’t crack a team that’s never made the finals.

weideman went for pick 37 with a swap of picks. henry wasn't best 22, it's really about demand,

Who the he'll is Chris Burgess 🤷?? And I'm not joking either?
