Heard an age journalist suggest Butler was moving too fast when he got to Blakey so therefore he should have shown a duty of care by not tackling him at all.
I've heard some rubbish from the AFL media this year but that's probably the best yet.
A tortfeasor's duty to take reasonable care to protect his neighbour from harm is inversely proportionate to the time afforded to the tortfeasor to effect that duty. It's a fundamental tenet of tort law dating back to the seminal King's Bench case of Dustbull v Tom Foolery plc (1798) 7 KB 126.
