WoW. For a Victorian based poster to care so less about Rance and the Tigers is surprising. I think they'll be top 6 this year. As for Crowley just turning 31 March and YET to find a pretender to his throne and being very fit in general.

No.

Crowley will play at least 17 games this year and will earn another contract next year too
I watch Richmond all the time and they are seriously average with not much depth and suspect coaching. Will be very lucky to make finals for mine.

And I hope he goes well, but Crowley is absolutely no 'lock' to play on after this season.

Mzungu is really underrated, just a real good footballer. I always like seeing him spot a place to run and then picking the footy up right away – he sees those things – so maybe, with his aerobic capacity, he can tag and be smart enough to peel off at the right time. So he can do damage too. He's pretty valuable around the ground. I don't think you should rob the team of his abilities when playing loose.
Agree, he has become a very good player. He used to frustrate the hell out of me with his decision making and disposal, but has really improved that part of his game.

He is such a great offensive runner I'd hate to see him pigeonholed as a tagger / defensive run with player.

I like him being an attacking run with player.

Sorry for intruding .Can you actually add to the original post what year their contract ends instead of just posting the News article because I don't want to open every single time.

Trades happen. Just need to make the best out of them. I really like Crozier, but I don't think he is a "must keep at all costs type". We have some others with similar profiles, and he is not in a settled position. Would have good currency at the trade table. I would also expect him to be offered a pretty good contract by Freo. If we are out-bid and there is a decent trade on the table, then, that's life.

Having said that, if you are in a decent club with a great coach, and you are playing alongside a group including the likes of Fyfe, Hill, Ballantyne and Walters, you'd be a bit mad to throw that away. You are a realistic shot at playing finals on a regular basis, and that is what playing football is about.

I reckon he is a must keep. Will be a match winner.

Saying Crowley is guaranteed a game for another two years, not sure what else I could've said. That's hopelessly biased even for a buddy.

I actually said Crowley would get another contract at the end of this year. And I think he'll get another after that too. Year by Year. I think he'll hang up his boots end of 2017. He still seems to really enjoy playing and he's come out and proved his doubters wrong in the past. I didn't say he'd be guaranteed every game. At his age that's unlikely...but until his role is no longer considered important enough or someone can do it as well as him...I reckon he'll be on the payroll.

I am in the camp that expects to see less of the war horse that is Ryan Crowley. Not because he is older or can't hack it anymore or because someone better has bobbed up. For me it seems a good development for our game plan. A little more attacking and if that comes at the expense of the tagger as a specialist, then I am fine with that.

No evidence at all that Lyon sees it the same way apart from the apparent shift in de Boer's pre season prep. Looking forward to seeing what pans out.

I've heard from a very reliable source just recently that Michael Johnson will be willing to be traded as a free agent if he can land a 4 year deal with another club. Apparently financial security for his family is his #1 priority.

Can't be traded as a FA though, can he?

I'd be disappointed if he didn't take it. Doubt he'll be offered a four year deal though. If we offer 1 or 2 and someone like GWS offer 3 it may be interesting.

I wouldn't begrudge it of him. I also think we can cover him adequately.

Read somewhere once Ross said he would stay as long as MJ was on the list, reckon it's a move to get $$ & perhaps min 3 years. He's got to do what is best for his family but I do see him leaving.
