The spider should win this time
Yep, see rematch vs Sonnen. This will however play better into Wideman's Wrestling game but either way he'll get the belt back.I think we will see a much different Anderson Silva than in his recent bouts where he has mocked opponents.
Hoping Silva loses. I welcome seeing the UFC post-GSP and Silva.
Seriously?Hoping Silva loses. I welcome seeing the UFC post-GSP and Silva.
I agree with Jay C. I get people wanting GSP or Anderson to lose but I don't get why you'd want to see them gone. Even if Anderson loses to Weidman again I'd love to see him in some fun fights at MW or even LHW. That's obviously assuming he's still capable of competing at the UFC level and I've seen nothing yet to suggest he isn't.

God damn I hate that word - dynamic. Not hating on GSP or Silva, I just think the 170 and 185 divisions become more dynamic without them.
Now that's what you call a dynamic way to make a point.God damn I hate that word - dynamic.
Seriously?
Silva has had an incredible career and has done some amazing things inside the octagon that I don't think we will see for a long time, maybe ever.
It will be a sad day once he does hang it up.
No he hasn't. He fights whoever is given to him by the UFC. I can't think of one top contended who hasn't been given a shot over the years.Silva has always carefully picked his fights in what has at times been a shallow division. In his time in Pride he was actually close to getting cut.
Source? I don't believe this at all. He was the Cage Rage middleweight champion and had beaten the best 168/170 pounder in the world around the time of his 3-2 Pride run.In his time in Pride he was actually close to getting cut.
He was actually considered the best WW after beating Sakurai pretty early in his career. It wasn't like he was a José Aldo who was destroying the competition and universally accepted as the best in his division it was only once he wrested the belt from Franklin that he begun this tear that has cemented his place in MMA history.
I honestly think Weidman's is a more naturally mixed martial artist than Silva
Front kicks to the face, spinning rising elbows and matrix dodging aren't?To pull off a standing guillotine choke or his use of an elbow on Munoz just comes down God given ability.

Holy hell that's a big call. Silva is one of the most naturally gifted MMA of all time.

Dana has admitted in the past there is a bit of a "process" in getting Silva to fight and he resisted a rematch with Hendo with Hendo going to Strikeforce.
After his loss to Chonan at Pride Shockwave in 2004 he was never invited back to any of the Pride because he had a 3-2 record.
He even lost to Daiju Takase by triangle choke and Takase had a losing record (4-7 at the time 11-13-2 for his career).
I mean what are we comparing here? Sure, Weidman has had a better first 10 fights, no one can deny that. We weren't discussing that at all though. That is far more then Silva ever achieved in his first ten fights.
We can all agree with that. We'll see how the second fight goes I suppose. However Weidman beat him at his own game and taught him a lesson.
Comparing MMA betting to bond yields and term deposits in the US? Holy hell, we've gone full crazy and irrelevant.I'm not a betting man but by betting on the underdog (Weidman) you will receive far better returns than current bond yields or term deposit rates plus there is less uncertainty about Weidman dominating than current questions about the efficacy of quantitative easing on the US Economy.
