High value in comparison to other D-tackles... If you get the highest impact scorer at DT in 2 years you're laughin'... A good pick for a will be good player, but thats just me... Unless you grab the very very best, most of the D-Line is pretty similar... But anomalies are always welcome in my books... ala Dockett almost breaking 100 at DT last year. That would put him just out of the top 10 DEs last year...

nah, he came 16th, and as i said, only 2 in the top 25

Well 11th got 102.5 (Carter) and Dockett got 99.5

Thats pretty close to hitting the top 10 DEs IMHO with only 3 points difference... Strahan had 100.5 points to come 13th... Tuck equal 11th

10th got 106.5

Close to it...

Gotta split them. I wont always strictly do it at 1,000, but this discussion thread will serve to continue on all year with chit chat long after the draft is over, so i better do it now and not when it's 5,000 posts.

Some threads that will die about 1,200-2,000 I will decide to not split.

This board is picking up a lot of activity now, there are potentially about 5 or more threads that will be epics (due to fantasy).

Epic threads are a drain on the servers. As this board becomes more and more active and epic threads emerge, it will become more prevalent, like you see in other boards. Before, there weren't any epic threads on NFL Board. Maybe one. But now there are a more of them.

Directive is to split them around the 1,000 mark. Discretion is used in determining that some threads will run their course around the 2,000 mark, while others will go on for tens of thousands of posts.

Some threads will be merged in time in an effort to reduce that clutter. For instance, the BFFFL #2 discussion and draft threads will eventually be merged once the draft is over, and then from there split as it becomes an on-going epic thread into next season.

I WAS gonna take him, but there isnt enough yet to bite on the story and pick him.

But you can if you want, and if stays retired it's a wasted pick I guess. You can always fill out your roster thru waivers etc. You dont HAVE TO have 34 from this draft.

What I'm trying to comprehend now with the picks after our draft in reference to
dspeed's saying we don't snake it.. why are we needing to pick up an additional 6 players or have I got that wrong??

34 round draft.
40 max roster size.
that means there'll be 6 extra roster spots a person CAN choose to fill thru the season via trades, waivers, FA.
you dont HAVE TO have 40, or even 34, on your roster.
when the draft is over, and rosters are entered in, from then on all season people will use the waivers to fill out their roster to 40 if they want.
you dont have to use your waivers, you can choose to hold onto your waiver position until something more enticiing pops up for you during the season.
the waivers then starts off in reverse order to the draft.
so redraggers will be 1, zarko 2, woodson 3, etc.
but the waivers is still "go to the end of the queue when processed" system.

I was talking about the draft in future years not snaking

After this intitial draft of 34, gg will enter the draft results and all FAs will be on waivers, you can put in for them if you want or whatever, you can wait till waivers clear and take the best of the rest

The non snaking part is not this year, it is in 09, 2010....

The other reason why it's 40 max roster and 34 keepers max is that every year there'll be a 6 round draft.
Which will consist of rookies and unkept FAs.
So everyone will probably fill out their roster to 40 during the year, and at some point next season, the keeper deadline will approach, so everyone will have some tough decisions to make about which 34 players they want to keep and which 6 they will cut.
Also, they dont HAVE TO keep 34.
If you kept only 20. It would just mean you would now have to rely on waivers/FAs to fill out your roster after the 2009 6-round draft occured.
You'd have 20 keepers, drafted 6 players, and therefore have 14 roster spots open that you would want to fill.

lol. c'mon woodson! get with the program. normally your AE explanations are very confusing but make total sense to you. And yet here, you get confused by simple things!
