They showed a replay of the last decision at the ground and it looked like a truly horrible call. Was actually a terrific mark.

However that is now just 24 goals in 15 games from Hale - pretty much playing the whole time at FF too.

I was actually happy with the umpires. They were hopeless our way mostly in general play, except Hale got completely dudded twice for 2 certain goals and the Simpson goal looked OK from where I sat.

I can't agree with the Pratt stuff up though. He played on to the side and tried to be too cute.

Hale's first half was probably scraping the bottom of the barrel but he at least kept his feet after half time. Let's hope he can kick on from here.

Hale gave away three free kicks and to be honest didn't take that many marks early in the game.
Also the sitter he missed in the second quarter really hit my nerve.
I have had enough of him, if he wants to be the No.1 foward in this team he has the convert the basic kicks, and provide strong leads that will always be marked when delivered right.

He is on thin ice at the moment in my opinion.

awful grandstanding decision by the umpire to pay a free against Hale in the dying seconds. Exactly what they're paid not to do. Ruined the game. Right in front of me me and a bunch of Richmond supporters who couldn't believe their luck. We'd had a good run in the second half from them until then to be fair.

I've been resistant to the persistent calls to dump him for much of the year, feeling that our forward entries don't really help him (mostly they don't). But it really goes against the grain to bleat about the 'shouldabeen' mark when you don't kick the 'shouldabeen' goals!

As much as it's been ****ing annoying, he is a good kick. Not all that concerned.

I just want 100% effort. I would actually like to see him get reported or suspended for charging into a few blokes. I want broken ribs. He is a massive bloke and he needs to impact every contest.

Thing is...I was prepared to rationalise that he's played shit because of the Laidley game plan. The ball was moved slow, he'd have to competer against 2-3 each time.

Today in the 2nd half he got everything a forward could wish for. he had one on ones pumped down his throat and could not do a whole loe

Not sure if you were at the game but there was a howling cross breeze that at times blew up and when he took that shot a gust blew up that would have required him to be aiming at the behind post it was that savage. A few players got gibbed when a gust blew in as they were having a shot on goal. You just can't allow for it if it hits just as you sink your boot into the kick.

He was pretty soft in more than a few contests in the first half, but most of the time he had 2-3 up wth him in every contest. Then in the second half, we put Drew forward, he attracted another key defender and Hale found himself one one one a lot more.

It is pretty simple from where i sit. Leave them in the forward 50 together and things will work better. But we need Campbell back and we should be recruiting a back up crumber, because while Lindsay has got talent, he doesn't know how to stay down and get the ball when it comes to ground.

Pratt should have got 50 metres. The ump made a clear error in judgement. The Richmond player should NOT have been that close to a player with a set kick - a clear 50 metre penalty.

I thought Hale was robbed for most of the day, particularly the last mark. With decent umpiring he would have kicked four or five goals which is a tidy return.

I thought overall the umpiring was fairly even but we seemed to cop the dubious frees where we would have otherwise kicked goals.

when he has some space and the delivery is ok he looks like a FF....
the kicking will come with confidence.....

if we can continue to get it in quickly and he continues to present then who knows...

if we go back to trying to drop it on his head when he is being double teamed then its a lost cause.

Spot on Z.... Hale needs to get away from his opponant and stop trying to get into wrestling he has 10 foot long arms if he plays in front no-one can out mark him, since he has gone to full forward he has lost the plot needs to watch some tapes of Dunstal, Lockett ect as he doesn't move more than 10 meters in a lead.I think he's been a total failure at full forward and needs to go back into the ruck and offload goldstein and just have hale and H as the ruckman drew at chb edwards or wunke at full forward ,at least they know how to play that position.

I like what Haley said about Robbie Tarrant. He has the big pecs and biceps like his brother and he has a big tank too.

Looking at his u18 highlights you know he can clunk the ball. As long as he is a better kick than his brother, Robbie sounds and looks like a prototype power forward.
