OT - English 101 - Bias versus biased

Bias is a term used to describe a tendency or preference towards a particular perspective, ideology, or result, when the tendency interferes with the ability to be impartial, unprejudiced, or objective.[1]. In other words, bias is generally seen as a 'one-sided' perspective.

The term biased refers to a person or group who is judged to exhibit bias. It is used to describe an attitude, judgment, or behavior that is influenced by a prejudice. Bias can be unconscious or conscious in awareness. Labeling someone as biased in some regard implies that they need a greater or more flexible perspective in that area, or that they need to consider the context more deeply.

Let me present an example.

"I think the Carlton jumper is the best in the league, but then again I am BIASED towards them."

"What is your favourite jumper in the league? Please don't include the team you support so I can eliminate any BIAS from the answers."

I hope this clears things up a bit for people and I expect you'll use the correct terminology in the future.
Sorry about the rant, but it's one of those little things that just grinds my gears.

That's probably my biggest pet hate. I can almost forgive the bias/biased one as it's not something that's commonly used.

But how the **** people can not know the difference between 'then' and 'than' is beyond me. I even see it in emails at work from people who I consider to be relatively intelligent.
