I'd be surprised if RBS stooges Cecil and Broughton haven't already lined something up as well. I dare say Huang will be back pretty quickly when the bank take control.

They'll sell for anything more than the debt level I'd imagine. So why give 2 Yanks a huge profit and pay 600m, when you can wait a month and pay basically half of that.

Agger is a much better central defender than Carragher and Skrtel (prior to Man City knee injury) is a much better central defender.

Martin Kelly is also a much better central defender, despite never having played their for the first team.

I think the manager wont drop Carragher because of the fact he's a local and the fans will be displeased with him being dropped.

I'd even play Soto ahead of Carra.

I think at the moment Carragher is still ahead of them. Skrtal has been gash for a while.

I really hope by the end of the season Carragher is reduced to cover for the defence, because we desperately need a player to step up and grab the spot alongside Agger. I think there is alot to like about Kelly and could see him getting in there.

A training ground injury is set to deprive Liverpool of Dirk Kuyt's services for a number of weeks according to Holland coach Bert van Marwijk.

During preparations for the Netherland's meeting with Finland on Tuesday the striker picked up a shoulder problem after falling then landing awkwardly at the ADO Den Hague stadium..

Kuyt has now left the natonal squad and headed back to Merseyside.

The damage has not been fully assessed but the Dutch camp suggest the joint is "strained" and the player has "possibly torn ligaments."

"He will probably have a few weeks off and at 4pm today [Monday] he will step on to the plane to Liverpool", van Marwijk said.

Earlier Kuyt confirmed there were discussions about a move to Inter Milan before the transfer window closed last week. However, the 30-year-old also declared he was happy to remain on with Liverpool.

The player's agent had gone on record about the possibility though Reds' boss Roy Hodgson dismissed the idea.

Hodgson stated that the player was happy at Anfield and added that the European champions had assured him that no Liverpool players would be drafted into Rafael Benitez's squad.

"I cannot deny there were negotiations with Inter," Kuyt said.

"It was pleasing to be courted by such a prestigious club, led by the coach who brought me to England and with whom I still have a splendid rapport.

"However, Liverpool declared I was not for sale and I am in any case happy to have stayed in the Premier League."

Kuyt's injury could be a blessing in disguise as we may be forced to play Babel or Pacheco. We'll probably just end up playing Maxi though.

He tries his best out there and is one of the most liked players in Liverpool.

Some of us here including me don't think he's good enough to start for us but not many think he's a knob.

Just a major problem - there is a guy named Torres upfront in a 1 striker system.

If you think Jovanovic is slow for a winger.. Kuyt and Maxi say hi.

Too slow for the style of winger hes trying to be. Tries to play like Aaron Lennon with half the pace really. Hasnt shown a ounce of dribbling ability yet. Drifts in too much and if he does pace he sure doesnt use it

No point in playing Torres in a 1 striker system when your wingers are as poor as yours are. Need a simplistic 4-4-2 at this stage. Personally I think alot of people (Hodgson) are underrating how poor you have been this year. You made West Brom look good at stages last time around and its only gonna get worse from here as the fixtures begin to pile up on a squad that did alot of work over the summer.
