I too would like to know how Lower is going for a round 1 spot? I also have Suban down back and Fyfe up forward for DT. Will they serve me well? Cheers!

Lower looks to be the rookie that will be elevated to play games. Given our injuries he should get the nod for round 1.

If you looked at last years stats, Duffield generally 'struggles' when playing away (I use that term loosely, just compared to his home scores). That, combined with Broughton's possible occasional role in the midfield probably makes him the more attractive buy - but you can't really go wrong with either.
Fyfe will likely be a star one day, but still needs to bulk up considerably to reach his full potential. I don't see him maintaining the ridiculous numbers he's racked up in the NAB Challenge as he's not a prolific ball winner in my eyes (so more suited to SC than DT) - but should still easily improve on last year's numbers.
Depends on your team structure/strategy, but at that price point you're probably banking on him to be a keeper. High upside, but I'm staying away from that gamble personally.

Tendai or Lower?
Purely from a scoring point of view and job security of both when Tendai is back from injury. How do you estimate they will go? I don't care about price as this isn't for DT exactly but the scoring is! Scoring, job security and longterm potential?

Before injury, Tendai was a walk up start to cover Hayden off half back.
The bloke is an advert for the eveready bunny on speed .
Talk is, 2 months on the sideline for Tendai with Lower getting the nod for rd1.
Ball magnet in the SANFL, ball magnet in the NAB Challenge... ball magnet in the AFL seems the natural next step

hey guys im toying with the idea of one of your mids this year,
its either palmer or fyfe - do you think there will be much difference in their scoring ave by years end?
i see fyfe is ripping it up now but palmer has the runs on the board a few years back.
what are your ratings on these two?

This is a very serious question. Palmer vs Fyfe. Epic showdown.
At the moment, I'd say Fyfe is a far more damaging player and would be chosen by any coach in the league before Palmer, but this isn't football, it's dream team and you want the player who will kick and tackle the most.
Palmer's shoulder should be better now (that injury last year), he is a gut running gatherer, so hopefully that means he'll be taking lots of +6 mark and kicks. Statistically, from 2008 (his best year) he kicks 2.7 times per mark taken (270k, 100m) so it takes almost three kicks to get that extra +3 for a cheap mark.
That same comparison for Fyfe is 2.21 kicks per mark taken (146k, 66m) so going on only that, you would think that if Fyfe can pick up more possessions, then they will be worth more for his score due to the slightly higher marks. Fyfe kicked 13.14 for the year (including preseason), where as Palmer booted 10.8 in his comparison first year even though he managed FAR more possessions (462 to 250), so Fyfe's game is more suited to marking more often and kicking more goals.
If Fyfe can touch the ball as often as Palmer, you would expect Fyfe to score better. If you see both of them improving, there's no reason not to pick both, one mid and one fwd, more so if you're going for a league win because Fremantle byes are all taken on the multi-team weeks and no league games are played then.
Still, I'd only pick Fyfe in the forward line for the same reason as Andrew Krakouer; the best averages in the forward line are no where near as high as the midfield and you want your players as close to the top as possible.
Just on Rhys i had him squeezed in as a fifth mid in my team after his NAB performances and how we know he can dominate a game, but i went cold on him because he was bereft of confidence in his kicking and i can see him handballing alot. What does everyone reckon?

i purely need a mid, the forwards are all set. i know how much palmer can score and thats why he is in my side right now but fyfe seems to have more upside and the dpp helps to sway me also. i'm right on the edge of picking him as a differential....
what do you persoanlly think, do you think he can step it up to an 80-85?
