you seem to be overlooking the fact that Wade is also a sub standard keeper being propped up by his batting exploits, just like Haddin.
If you want to drop Haddin due to his keeping standards, then you need to replace him with Hartley or similar, no point in dropping a bad keeper who can bat, for another bad keeper who can bat.

Get a clue champ, just because you think it doesn't make it so, before Micket Arthur was appointed coach, during the WA and Victoria shield match he said Wade is easily Test standard wicket keeper.in the same year, he probably broke the record for dropped chances and byes conceded.
He's no good. If he were any good, actual cricket people would already be calling for his inclusion, but the silence is deafening.

Hartley is probably the best keeper but at his age and with Wade performing so well why would they pick Hartley?
IIRC aside from a couple of seasons (maybe three, max) he has been pretty ordinary with the bat...I'd be pushing for Hartley if he was in good form with the bat, hasn't been his best year.

pretty sure fualkner has been mentioned by many people....
i would've picked him in front of hilfenhaus for the india series considering the guys that were unavailable... woops.... except faulkner would've picked up 2 10-fors
very very good prospect.
When I think Hartley, I think Reece Young...
A keeper must be able to bat well now. No "speciality keeper" role in international sides.

Haddin struggled during the Test, dropping Indian opener Gautam Gambhir and his general glovework was beneath his best, often complicated by balls swinging after they had passed the batsman.
But Arthur sees no cause for alarm with the Test team now solidfying after a turbulent year.
"I still believe in Brad," Arthur said. "I love his character. I love the way he is around the group.
"He is our vice-captain and he lives that role really well.
"I am confident we are going to get the best out of Brad in the Perth Test match.
Great

So effectively, he is in the team because he is 'good to have around'. What a joke.
Just out of interest, why aren't people discussing faulkner?
he's about as fast as Starc, and his a left arm bowler?
Across the board his numbers add up to better than starc, and he looks handy?
22 years old, 60 odd wickets at 25 ish, and bowling about 130-140 ish?
he's handy with the bat too.
Faulkner is surely on the radar for the national T20 side and maybe even the ODI side. Got another 4 wickets in the Big Bash tonight (albeit went for lots of runs as well) and has a great slower ball (like Clint McKay) and can bat. Won't be long before he's in the yellow clothing and then he'll have a great chance to put his name at the forefront for possible test duties. Top talent. (About to have an op on his finger though).seen his name in passing here and there, but not on the selection table. surely if they are looking for a young up and coming lefty, why go for the one with 55 wickets at 35 instead of 65 at 25?
Tassy quota full with cown, punter and hilfy?
TBH, I think keeping is overrated. For someone to be keeping for most of their playing lives, they should be very adequate to keep at the highest level (most state WK). But now, modern day times, you gotta bat. And its fact, there are alot more batting keepers, than just keepers now days than there were 20+ years ago. Thats why hartley won't get a gig. He's not a good bat.I think this is foolish planning. A quality keeper is worth any difference in runs between a batsman who is an adequate first slip with some big gloves and pads and a genuine keeper. Not that haddin contributing with the bat either.
Gilchrist was something special. Healy was brilliant as well, and batted with maturity to the best of his ability.
Experience? LOL....
I'm excited about Faulkner, but I thought he was more around the 130 mark than 130-140?
Also, IIRC Faulkner's form with the ball in FC matches hasn't been great this year. But in any case, his name has certainly been thrown about on this board.
