If Forrest faced 300 deliveries his projected total would be 180, hardly fast enough for a competitive ODI total

I wasn't bagging him, I just think he needs to lift it up a notch and stop leaving so many dot balls. A strike rate of 60 is a tad too low in ODI's for my liking, especially in Hobart.
From memory a score of around 270 is good in Hobart. What is par score for this pitch?

Thats what people (including myself) mean by he is not an ODI player. He hasn't even been able to do it in domestic cricket, what makes you think he will do it in Internationals? Especially given his domestic strike rate of 63 to go with his 28 average.Yeah fair enough, I was more talking about the people saying that he "is not an ODI player" based on his first few games, which have been good.
I agree with you that he allows too many dot balls and needs to turn more of them into singles, but I think that will come with experience.
He did.. 180+0 = 180you don't account for him having a dash in the last 10 overs![]()

Why is he given any lee-way? What's wrong with expecting more from a player that has such a low strike rate in a game and is unable to keep the score ticking by.That's why we have the Hussey brothers coming in next to pick up the run rate.Get off Forrests back ffs.

We would've been better off with Ponting batting at 3, at least he wouldn't have wasted all these deliveries.

Forrest is dam consistent, would say hes booked himself a trip to the Caribbean.
