Bay 13 is that way --->
The way this thread was going I though it must have been moved. Port fan not wanting Crows to get Toumpas, a typical troll reply.

I do believe people value draft picks too highly, and Tippett is certainly proven, but just going on market value. If Mitch Clark got pick 12 I'd say Tippett is worth slightly above that.
While i respect your idea, i wonder; is it better to accept unders from Sydney (if that's what happens), assuming he'll probably get to Sydney for nothing in the PSD anyway?
Surely if you are worried about making Sydney stronger, letting us have Tippett + pick 22 is worse than letting us have Tippett and you having pick 22?
Plenty of good players have gone lower than pick 22. For example, in 2006 a guy called Kurt Tippett was drafted at pick 32.
I wouldn't think letting Sydney have a free pick 22, while losing out on one yourself helps Adelaide's cause too much.

Why is there this fixation on the PSD and the idea that every team is lining up with picks for it? He's able to nominate for the ND as well.I seriously doubt Sydney would get him in the PSD but there's always a chance that could happen.
We already are very hard to beat. We are the premiers, remember?Give us a pick that secures Toumpas and I bet AFC starts to talk turkey. Get it off Melbourne or GWS. I doubt we would ask for 22 then and you can keep White since he is supposedly worthy of being part of the Tippett trade.
Anything short of a decent outside running player + 22. A top 5 pick or 2 picks in the top 10 is just Bay 13 worthy.
With Tippett the Sydney team will be very hard to beat. There will be several teams interested come PSD time.

We don't need Tippett. He'd be handy, but we'll do fine without him. Happy to see him go into the PSD and end up at GC.
Because it should matter.http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2012/10/14/12/15/sydney-second-most-expensive-city
Looks like you can all eat a big one

Assuming it goes to the PSD, how many teams have taken part in PSDs in the last few years?I was under the impression those picks would likely go to other sides before Sydney got theirs.

Its pretty obvious he meant that club's would not be willing to give up a top 20 pick in the ND do get a player who doesn't want to play for them, that's on top of paying him 800k over 4 years, a PSD pick is pretty much a free pick

Which is why people thinking he won't get to us in the PSD are foolish. Our two most likely rivals are priced out.Clearly the Swans disagree as they offered a contract which priced GC and Brisbane out of the market.
And as our younger guns get even better? Get a grip. But will you continue to be that way as your ageing players retire?
Geelong just finished an impressive reign of 3 flags in 5 years. We are entering a pretty exciting phase for our club, not exiting one. Poor comparison.Besides, Geelong were reigning premiers this year. Didn't mean much when they lost to Freo in the finals.
Because no other team's younger guns will get any better? And as our younger guns get even better? Get a grip.
I think the point being made is that just saying a team will flatly improve or decline because of age brackets is a big disingenuous.Because no other team's younger guns will get any better?
Especially those that do not have eight 29+ year olds in their starting 22.
Of course it applies to everyone else. Read the post I was responding to before you open your bitter Hawthorn trap.Because no other team's younger guns will get any better?

Among the other teams, not money have 800k+ of cap space just sitting around doing nothing this time of year. Very few clubs would have that flexibility when its PSD time. And of those that do, none would spend that much money on a player that wants to be elsewhere.
I'm genuinely curious to know what the reaction of Adelaide fans will be IF they don't accept our best offer and IF he goes to us in the PSD for nothing. Will you be satisfied with that? Will some kind of moral crusade be worth the same team getting him for nothing?
MANY of our important players have retired since the 2005 GF and we've hardly missed a beat. But will you continue to be that way as your ageing players retire?
