After watching the games today.
White: Can anyone say, Bartlett, MacDougall, Cook....I could go on.
Lamb: yes for the right price.
Gumbleton: See White.
Jetta: Very, very ordinary. Pace and a good leg only get you so far, you've got to get the bloody thing and make good decisions.

Summary from the swans game:

Lamb - hell yes. So damn silky. Good wheels. Rather him than a Crameri to be honest. 2nd round pick would be a good return for him.

White - disagree with those who thought he was poor today. I thought he was impressive again and very dangerous. I'm a yes on him for the right price as well.

White has 10cm and 10 kgs on Morris and got given a spanking in every 1 on 1 when they were on each other but I guess he still had a couple of shots on goals.

The only reason people here were interested in White was because he was going to be a player we could pick up with a late draft pick. He has surpassed that now and will cost more than his worth, Imo.

And Gumbleton just got cheaper after doing nothing today

I didn't see the game, but looked up the stats and saw 7 marks. No idea if they were contested or not. But if he played poorly that only works in our favour. Preference with Gumby is to take him with our first pick in the PSD, i.e. get him for nothing. GWS and Melbourne won't go near him and I doubt the Saints will, having drafted a couple of talls this year.

God damn it, how can we get this Tom Boyd character? Lets cut to the chase. We get him and the guts of our next finals team is set. We can fluff about with the whites and gumbys of this world, but if we can find a way to land this cat, our list re-shape is almost there. Sigh.

With wallis's form, clay's before he was injured, picken getting back to form and Boyd available to play defensive midfield, is anyone else with me that we should be delisting lower? I just see no role for him in this team or place for him on the list.

Depth player capable of playing AFL, and a pretty decent leader in the VFL side I would have thought.

Unless the unthinkable happens and all teams ahead of us at the draft pass on him, we can't.
The only other option is to deal with GWS for P1 [that they don't want anyway], resulting in us paying far over the odds for a kid who may, or may not be in equal proportions our...'Great White Hope'.

As for White, today he constantly set up as a 3rd wingman at most restarts, presumably trying to drag Moz up field so Sydney could set up their own version of 'Pagan's Paddock'.
Moz basically was too smart to get sucked in.

Fronky , how about we leave it to you to nut out something. Your one of the deeper thinkers on this board.
Get back to us in a week or two :)

Kersten kicked another 5 today, 11 in first two weeks returning from injury, should be on our to look at list as he won't get a gig this year with Hawkins and Vardy and Geelong looking at finals rather than future.

With Cross potentially retiring this season it might not be a bad idea for him to be on the list

Sam Lloyd – Key Forward – 23 years old
Sam is a great lead-up key who has terrific hands and running patterns to get at the end of a teammate’s entry inside 50. Collects the ball alot more than the average key forward, recording a current average of 14 disposals per game for the Dolphins in 2013, earning him a call-up to the Victorian Interleague State squad earlier in the year. Has strong hands which lead to him averaging just over 4 scoring shots per game, and could be even more effective if his accuracy was a bit greater in front of the sticks.
Averages: 14 disposals, 5.7 marks, 1.6 contested marks, 2.3 goals, 4.1 scoring shots, 56.6% accuracy
Mad Monday VFL review, haven't seen him play personally...but maybe someone else has?

Says he's listed at 182cm on the VFL team sheet. Unless it's a typo.

Just been reading most team boards trade threads. There is some crazy stuff out there. We aren't that bad, are we? :p

Said it before. Think our only chance at Boyd is if bellchambers wants to take the cash at gws. Essendon don't need Boyd, and neither do gws have a ruckman that could help essendon replace bellchambers. We could get involved as the 3rd team. Highly unlikely though. Bugger

Ernie said earlier in the year that we already had players at the club capable of doing his role and was highly critical re: his recruitment (which cost about pick 90). The past month has proved Ernie correct. Lower made a good start, but he is very one-paced and one dimensional. Smith and Wallis in particular (not to mention Picken, Cross and Boyd) have a lot more to offer (and are only 20-21). He'll probably be kept on for depth, but most likely gone by 2015. Did he get a 2 year gig or can we cut him loose now?

Its pretty funny, bigfooty logic is "Griffen is a gun and the bulldogs are a rabble surely we can lure him away to our fantastic club, lets offer our 2nd round pick and some dud tall"

I've been thinking were still just developing Wallis' game and he would be wasted as a run with player but if he can continue his form and can limit the influence of one of the better inside mids on the other team while having a big influence for the team too that is huge and he could almost be one of the most important players in the team playing that role. He was huge yesterday, did some great work inside, his tackling was awesome and keeping JPK under 20 touches is very good too.

I haven't been a fan since day 1 either. He got a 2 year deal unfortunately. I don't see any role for him in the team, nor on the list.

Lower has already been worth the price we paid to get him - he was very important early in the year and will provide much needed midfield depth. By the end of his two year contract he will probably have outlived his usefulness.
