I'm not 100% sure on this bit, but I have heard that if you're on a bike you get the fine but don't lose your licence as a bike doesn't require a licence.Really? Jesus, the amount of times i have ridden home after a few drinks.
really followed home, wow. Can they do that.![]()

That would make sense, i know if you lose your motorbike license you also lose your car license.
Yeah, if you get done in any vehicle you lose all your licenses (bike, car, boat).
Had my license about 2 years and only been breath tested once which was when I was pulled over on my red P plates for having 2 peer passengers in the car. Any other cop would've let me off being midday on a Monday driving to grab a bite to eat but I got a power hungry cop who felt compelled to fine me unfortunately.
Not sure whether they can or not, but it happened to me once (well, not home, but to a mates place). It was about 8 years ago, and the cop saw a single early 20's driver and probably thought it would be an easy pick up. The cop questioned me about what I was up to, if I'd been drinking, and if he'd breath tested me would I be zero (I was on my full licence so was a little perplexed by that question). I think the fact I was giving him straight answers with no backchat was irritating him, so exasperated he had no grounds to do anything to me, he took off after a couple of minutes of questioning.
Wait, when you say bike you mean Motorbike yeh? Can you be breath tested on a pushy?
How much is a fine for overloading? I've been very close to breaking that rule, it's just so inconvenient and stupid. Instead of having a car of five driving to one destination, they make it three cars. Killing the ozone layer!
So he never actually breatho'd you?
Pushy. I think it varies from state to state but the wording of the law regarding breath testing in Victoria is they can only test a person in a motor vehicle, so my understanding is that you can refuse a breath test on a bicycle but you could still be arrested for drunk in a public place or something like that if they wanted to pricks about it.
I tend to catch a lot of the odd-ball ones they set up in Perth. 10.30am on a Friday on John Sanders Drive, 4.30pm on a Thursday on Labouchere Road near the Zoo are a couple that stand out as particularly strange time/location-wise.
My partner took my falcon to work once instead of her Getz and the cops followed her from work for about 20 mins before pulling her over to breath test herNo idea if they can or not. It was late at night (I worked in a restaurant that didn't close until 1am) and they were behind me for the entire 20 minute drive. They didn't put their lights on until we turned into my street...which is a dirt road with no street lights, so it was a bit intimidating! They were pretty nice though.
I've also been pulled over by a drug and alcohol tester and had a minimal reading. The policeman said I wouldn't be incriminating myself if I admitted that I'd smoked pot in the previous 6 weeks or so, but I hadn't. Then I had to tell him what I'd consumed that day, and when I mentioned nurofen plus, he said that can give a slight reading and that I could be on my merry way.
The cops were obviously stalking ... nothing to worry about, just report them to the police. Or, I guess, maybe that might not work.Well now I'm paranoid. I get tested probably every six weeks. I don't know why, I'm a fully licenced female in a mazda 2, nothing exciting. I even got followed home from work one night and got tested just before my driveway.
Probably got the odd no licence or fines suspension as well...I remember back when I was a kid in primary school they set up a booze bus every now and again on Armadale Rd Armadale at 3pm in the afternoons to catch people on the way back from either picking up kids from school or work.
Never had my licence suspended nor have ever been pulled over for an unregistered vehicle.Probably got the odd no licence or fines suspension as well...
