Smashing of Richmond is must now

Im well aware that richmond have some genuine stars that if firing will cause major issues. What I do disagree on is that they ''will'' come out firing. If ever they were going to do that it was the week they lost there club legend in Tommy Hafey. This was definetly a game I had marked as 50/50 at the start of the season but given where things lie now I would be disgusted if we lost. The key will be to put the foot on them early.

Yeah, that's true. Although I hope Hardwick's call for selecting players who want to play doesn't pump them up too much.
But either way coming out firing is a must, because I see it going a few ways. We both come out in a blaze of glory and its a tight/scrappy game. Or they over pressure us the same way Essendon, Collingwood, Goldcoast and Geelong have done before.

Oh just f*** off............??? we play next Sunday night, that is nearly 7 days in my book, there will be absolutely NO EXCUSES not to smash that RABBLE they call Richmond.

dont want to hear any crap about the red eye home excuse. lack of effort is unexceptable full stop.

I just don't get this type of post. Why must we? If we don't are you going to call the team, or some of its players shit? If we lose ...?
How did you come to that conclusion? Ignorant post from you there...
Have a think and then let me know if you still require me to explain....

Key is going to be deny them the ball in the middle.

Cunnington, Greenwood and Swallow will be the keys. I hope Ziebell plays half forward and rotates into the middle in bursts, he has been ordinary in the guts since coming back from injury.

Far from ignorant, I think he was right - on what basis can you possibly claim that anything less than a 10 goal win is meaningless?

I don't care if we win by a point. It's a danger game that we must win.

OK since you also want to be simple minded.....

We must put away the teams that we are expected to win against!!! something we dont do well..... we need to put them away.... a convincing win... get with the program would you!!

backs against the wall is our specialty....

Fact is every game is a danger game and so on these days.

There are hardly any 'certainties' anymore, and if any team doesn't turn up on the day with the required effort they can get rolled. Nearly every team in the AFL has been a "yo-yo" to some extent, not just us despite what the media might be writing.

In saying that, whilst I have been far from overly confident in any of our games this year, I think we match up very well against the Tigers.

Happy to take a win by 1 or 100, but I think we deserve to be short favourites and hope we play accordingly.

Can you explain the magic of 10+ goals margin, then? My simple mind doesn't grasp ostensibly arbitrary measures ... e.g. I'm not sure why a 9 goal win wouldn't cut it. :thumbsu:

Let's hope our boys don't have the mentality of this thread and think they've already won.
The OP was never meant to say we have already won. It was meant to say it's time to back up a great win with a strong showing at home, and smash a side that is having a horror season.
