How far can North Melbourne go?

Just because North have some lower sides from here doesn't mean they have an easy draw. We've already had 3 interstate trips and a trip to skilled stadium. North have faced the hard part of the schedule when other teams have had the soft part of theirs.
This, do people realise we've played the majority of the better teams away from Etihad? Geelong in Geelong, Pies at the G, Sydney away, 2 trips to Perth.

Sydney for example have had Pies, North, Hawks, Freo, Geelong all at Sydney, as well as Port next week!

They're obviously a chance as their best is up there - the problem, as mentioned by loads of posters above, is the lack of consistency and genuine elite talent. I'd also be pretty worried that their leaders couldn't stop the rot in the 2nd quarter yesterday, no matter how good they ended up being in the 3rd.

But it's a close year, if they can keep injury-free let's see what happens.

zero chance of winning the flag. good middle of the road team. if they win a final it would be a great season.

If Swallow, Zeibull, Cunnington and Bastinac all click they'll have a great ball winning team, they have plenty of outside run, I like their tall backs and if Petrie and Harvey maintain good form then their forward line is good too, with Black and Thomas.

They are not going to win a two games in a row against top 4 quality so I can't see premiership this year, but there is no reason they can't make a prelim, or one better. Well there are reasons that they may not, but they have the tools to pull it off.

Id be optimistic if i were a fan, would probably not plan the grand final celebrations for 2014 but their best is clearly very good imho.

Close the gap between best and worse and they will be a top 4 side

I think second week of the finals is about the best that they'll do this year.

This is what I'd be hoping for. And being competitive in our last (losing final) match for the season.

Experience in two finals, and winning one would be great. Hoping for 5th or 6th to ensure a home final in week one, assuming of course that we do in fact make finals.

Do you mean again? Because we beat Port Adelaide before going up north to pump Sydney.

making top 8 and winning atleast 1 finals game would be a great season for us imo.

ATM we're not consistent enough to be a legit top 4 contender.

Getting a massive scare from Richmond says not a top four contender. And ten or twelve teams are a remote flag threat.

Adelaide ( who aernt much good ) but grow a leg at Adelaide Oval - this weeks game for Nth Melb is critical- if i barracked for them id take a 1 point win
Never too late to start!

I cringe when seeing these MB North threads are started by North fans. It's like waving a red rag to all the bull trolls.

Prepare to be ******* amazed then.

As for North...try winning games you are expected to win first and lose the chip on your collective shoulder. It's not up to North supporters to make main board threads like this...leave that to opposition teams who rate you. They don't yet? Then win more games you should. Simple.

Thank you Port Adelaide supporter for explaining how to operate bigfooty to us all.

As in continue on or avoid more? We've had a particularly poor run compared to recent years. Swallow & Wells have missed the majority of the season. Without question have been our best 2 players over the last couple of years. Tarrant has been out all year and this has forced us to push a 10 game player in Daw to provide structure - not ideal. There are obviously others and I wouldn't describe our injury list as horrifying - but it has definitely been far from ideal.

We should not allow some NM members to make threads on our club on the main board. It is not only going to backfire, but it appears condescending to say the least, let other teams start the threads on the club on the main board, not ourselves, we're not the best and we're not the worst team atm, leave it at that, a final's win is an obvious aim of course.

Don't be defensive. "You" won't beat Freo, Hawthorn or Swans in the last two weeks if they're fit. Nor will you beat Port in Adelaide. I'd also have Collingwood and Geelong just ahead of you, though Geelong are definitely losing their mojo. If Essendon can get some form going they'd be 50/50. I'd back Norf in against everyone else, well if you were to play them at Eitihad that is.
