Gross human rights abuses are happening and possibly even encouraged by the current government, which is then persuing those who speak out through the courts to silence criticism.

Save the Children require investigation if their encouraging refugees to self harm , i thought you would applaud a government that cracked down on an organisation breaking the laws and got to the bottom of what their been up to . No organisation is beyond being looked at. So bring on the report and lets see what they have been doing and if they have done the wrong thing the whole organisation needs to close .

This has nothing to do with 18c. We are talking about a minister encouraging the abuse of draconian legislation, all to intimidate his critics and people who may be concerned with bringing very real abuses to light.

I am fine with that, but I think the "suggestions" have no merit, in fact I would suggest they are malicious and aimed at preventing an aid organisation from operatining or providing accountability, perhaps even a touch of revenge is behind the accusation.

So you approve of the government turning away thousands of legitimate refugees, who face persecution, torture, imprisonment or warfare upon return?

You support the enabling rights abusers in Sri Lanka, shielding them from investigations into war crimes and the returning of Tamils, to the hands of their oppressors?

These people are economic migrants and if they had been mistreated in their home countries take that up with those governments it got nothing to do with us whatsoever. The Un that old toothless tiger should be addressing this.
What goes on in Sri Lanka has nothing to with us, both sides in Sri Lanka have contributed and are not blameless, the Tamils have committed many atrocious acts and their original homeland is just a few miles across the water if they don't wish to reside in Sri Lanka anymore. Morrison has reduced the numbers in detentions by the thousands , but of course you don't acknowlege that. The detainees have better conditions than our very own poor and homeless, so don't tell me they are being mistreated. Children in detention are their because of their parents, if they have issues it is from the prior lives they lived, i won't take responsibility because children have been mistreated and not well looked after by their parents. Responsiblity is always never of their own making its always got to be sheeted off to someone else. No Australia should be applauded for allowing 55,000 economic migrants to bluff the system and get access to the welfare train. We are such a soft touch we look like a joke just to be walked over and you are the type who encourages this.
