Amazing how everyone gravitates to the negatives when we have report suggesting:

- Freeman fit and flying after hammy injuries and 2nd;
- Varcoe fit after extended injury concerns and almost 3rd;
- Seedsman fit and making top 8, after injury and some concerns on running ethic;
- The unfairly maligned Adams top 10;
- De Goey top 10 and looking like making early impact;
- Fasolo not missing a beat all pre-season and in the front pack;
- Maynard moving up the charts like a new Tool album;
- Scharenberg moving from mediocre jog to beating seasoned players.

Some of you could be locked in a room full of Victoria Secret models and still complain!

We should do a reverse Thatsgold and re-post this in every thread...

1st: Steele 5.54. Had a 60-70m lead the whole time.
2nd; Freeman 6.08. Also had a 60-70m lead from 3rd the whole time.
3rd: Mantiet 6.22. Fell straight into third from early on and held it. Was clear third for most of it, but got gobbled up towards the very end. Held off Varcoe in a sprint at the end.
4th: Varcoe 6.23.
5th: Pendles
6th: Crisp

EDIT: Suggestion Kennedy came 2nd last may have been erroneous. Certainly came in back pack, though.

Last: Grundy 7.24. A long way back.

Cameron ran 6.29 (on grass and in the heat). Glenn 6.35, Gorringe 6.37 and Martin 6.38.

Taken from the GC board - This was Pre-Xmas training 2KM time trial so our numbers stack up well. Some notable players missing from GCS I believe Bennell/JOM/Prestia of the top of my head but our 4th place Varcoe was still quicker than the guy Clay Cameron who won which are claiming he's training the house down.

Yeah I understand that, but people who aren't on BF and are Collingwood fans would be crying out for some news!

I guess I'm just bored in the off season :( Don't mind me! haha

What exactly do you want to hear? Not much happening besides being in the gym and out on the track. Hopefully the lads can get stuck in to the next 6 weeks before the practice games roll around.

With Port it's not only their fitness that has gone through their roof but also their skills. Their ball use is absolutely phenomenal after they were dreadful in 11-12. It's an amazing turnaround in such a short period of time.

I'm quite happy with our drafting of late, I just pray that these kids develop and that we get their

Agreed. The sooner we get 50 plus games in to our early picks the better off we'll be.

A review of training perhaps? Some photo of video of the lads training, anything! Haha

A low key pre season probably means few injuries have occurred, because that is the only thing that would be news, and it's news that I don't want to hear. So, all good so far is how I read it.

For the next few weeks ….
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from about 9:15/9:30-12:00ish… If you want to find them out on Olympic Park. Other than that Tuesday is half day and therefore you won't find the full group out there and Saturday is only a short session which is usually held away from Olympic Park. Hope that helps the "out of towners" with their planning…!

Legend.

Yeah I hear what you're saying. I'll take a low key pre season for good results come round 1 onwards.

Because that will be the determining factor.

Fact is the little info, footage and other stuff they provide as fan service will mean sweet fa to our on field results.

Swanny posted this onto Beams' twitter/Instagram account!

What an absolute champ :D

Went and had a look at training this morning. With a few new faces it took a while to work out who was missing and who was there. Being covered in hats and sunscreen didn't make it any easier either, but I'm pretty sure the following were no shows: Pendlebury, Broomhead, Reid, Toovey, Abbott, Moore and Greenwood. Mantiet I'm not sure about. He may or may not have been there. I was interested to see him, but couldn't pick him out.

I did spot Greenwood and Pendlebury late in the session, so they may have been working inside.

They did about an hour of warmups and running drills. Straight line running of which most players completed. Caff was probably the only one at that stage who did laps. Swan and Scharanberg did all the running with the main group. Once finished, they settled into running laps only.

There were a few guys whose day consisted a pretty much running only. Swan, Scharanberg, Macaffer, Marsh, Fasolo and Sinclair. At various stages they were joined by Young, Seedsman and Mason Cox. Swanny ran himself into the ground. Worked really hard varying it up between jogging laps and some sprints. Macaffer and Scharanberg were interesting to watch. I thought Caff looked a lot stronger and fitter. Scharanberg definately huffing and puffing a lot more than Caff.

The ball drills were a little hard to keep an eye on as they did most of them in 3 different groups. One of the drills involved a Key Forward and a Key Back competing in the air with a couple of blokes competing for the crumbs. I took most notice of the competing between the big guys. Trav monstered almost all comers as expected, except for Nathan Brown. Was good to see Browny win nearly every one on one he contested. Grundy also did well in this as a forward. Took some good grabs . Keeffe and Gault were the two who struggled in this. Beaten most times. Keeffe told several times to stop holding. No Jack Frost or Jesse White.

There were some clearance/ball movement drills in groups of about 8 a side. Without over analysing things too much, there were a few guys who did things that stood out to me. Goodyear loves being in the thick of it. Travis was beastly all session. Ran at the front of his group every time and worked really hard. Sam Dwyer trained with the main group all session and was prominent. Again, was impressed with Brown in the competitive stuff

Mason Cox was having a few shots t goal from about 35-40. Managed to kick most of them. A bit up and under, but from where he started, an improvement. He wasn't involved in any of the ball drills that I recall, so an obvious work in progress.

After all the discussion about Karnezis and Kennedy from the other day, I was keen to see how they went. Not much to say really. Both trained the whole session with the main group and nothing notably stood out about either. They ran with the others just fine and worked in the drills quite well. So did Josh Thomas who someone else noted ran laps only on Monday.

Any questions I'm happy to try and answer, but the short, sharp, tight drills make it hard for blokes to stand out too much.

Really can't wait to see some full ground match practice. Its going to be interesting to see where all these guys will fit in.

Either that or the club is doing a good job hiding them.

In that 1st picture above, the curly headed kid just above Grundy's right shoulder..Very impressive. Not sure who he is though:$

Charlie Curnow from the Falcolns
I read somewhere that we have a couple AIS kids atm, I thought he must have been one of them. Can play.

The players don't look like they have been focused to bulk up which is a bit disappointing. Geelong always seemed to be a big side and out muscle us. Wouldve liked to have seen us come in a bit bigger in 2015.

I was under the impression that the whole league is transitioning to more endurance and less bulk.

It is, but apparently we should have some magic formula that increases bulk and endurance (that's not banned).
