Amon & AhChee need to play every week. Clurey needs more exposure. Harvey needs to play 4-5 games. Neade should come back in for 5-6 games. Moore should play every week for the rest of the year. Get Impey running up the ground.

I dont think we need wholesale changes next year, just some tinkering.

Geez be good if your right , but if the coach remains unbending what happens then ?

Easier draw - should be. But who cares really, we can't beat Carlton or Brisbane anyway so not sure what an easy draw will do anyway.

Possibly it might be time to look at leadership on field aswell , Boak hasn't been a beacon this year id say , his disposal skills are average , if that , and as for Ebert , I don't know how he got made VC to start with . Reminds me of Craig Bradely a bit ( though Bradle's had better skills ) , Craig was to quiet on the field and had no physical presence , to me even though he was State and Carlton captain I don't think he was a really good leader.

Yeah this easy draw thing is a joke.. We need to make our own luck. If your getting smashed by the Lions and Carlton in turmoil.. You cant complain. Huge changes are needed though. Ken cant just keep trusting these guys, they are giving him nothing.. The urgency of the group at clinch occasions looks trial gameish. The presser from Ken at least what i could read was he'll finally start dropping blokes.

so many players have gone backward. sure some guys you can explain by age (schulz and the loss of cornes) and some by injury (polec, white, wines etc).

Brad ebert to me has gone backwards the most out of anyone. Jonas is up there but i guess the pressure on him has increased with the ball being down there a lot more than last year.

Teams have stopped us playing through the corridor thats obvious and our slingshot is dead but even when we attempt it we are turning the ball over and making ******ed decisions game after game... That isn't teams “working” us out..

Here's what I'd do:

1. Wingard to play as a full time midfielder

If Wingard plays full time midfield we will have a lot of goalless qtrs and halves. He's our only decent forward. Been our leading goalkicker 4 weeks straight.

As I said in another thread, I believe the problem has to go a lot deeper than players out of form.

Voss arrives after his star turn on that god aweful fox footy soap opera show the Recruit, and one of the best midfields in the comp for two seasons now couldn't buy a centre clearance if they offered their opponents the Hope diamond, which then put immense pressure on the defence ( which apart from one player who has been ordinary from day 1 ) stood up manfully early in the season.

And who knows what the f*** his compadre from brisvegas, Shaun Hart of `I would firstly like to thank god ' fame at his Norm Smith medal acceptance speech has brought to the table, because he hasn't been seen since Ken threatened to punch his lights out in the coaching box last year.
Hart has been so invisible compared to eg Richo, that you do have to wonder if he has he been told to stay in his office until his contract is up.

Then there was the ridiculous decision to make one of the lightest teams in the comp even lighter, what a disaster that has turned out to be, one kick from a gf last year and this season ragdolled by scrubbers.

As others have already said there is a weights room, f****** use it, build tough and stongly built footballers, and leave the marathon running to blokes like Kip Keino.

Edit - Sheet, I think I just saw Hart standing behind Ken in the coaching box wearing headphones, maybe he is not invisible after all.

We did so well the last two years because no one was expecting it and didn't put us under pressure until we had built enough confidence to handle it. This season we haven't had that luxury and old skeletons are coming out of the closet, namely the reversion to poor skills.

Instinct when the pressure is off is vastly different to instinct when the pressure is on. It's nothing to do with tactics, because you don't think about tactics under pressure. You don't have time to think.

What's wrong about it? It seems crystal clear to me that our problems are on an instinctive level, because as soon as we come under any pressure and become the hunted we revert to 2010-12 skills. There is no quick fix for that. Tactics don't make Jonas play deplorably. Tactics don't make Schulz and Gray miss easy shots at goal. Tactics don't tell Broadbent to bump an injured player. Pressure reveals who you are at the core.

This is our 2000/2006 year. But it's not preordained that we become successful after it. It's up to the players to allow themselves to be reprogrammed - to keep believing in the direction they are going. If they do that, they'll use this season as a springboard.

Graham Cornes said on the radio that a knowledgable person at AFL House said that this would be a dip year for us. And it's true - we went into it with the expectations of a top four team, the belief of a top four team but not the resilience of one. That comes from adversity and experience in doing it week in week out. Putting the same performance in every game.

These players are driven to succeed, which is why I know they'll get there. The ox is slow, but the earth is patient.

To be perfectly honest I am still unsure about Krak.
No doubt he has a place in our team but I'm not sure we are using him in the right role.

His vision, calmness and passing is as good as you get and we need to play him in a way where we can use thise skills to good use.

Sometimes less is more and a Jetta role, as in go to midfield playmaker, may be better than as a HBF or HFF first and playmaker second.

The first rebuild needs to happen at a coaching level and it must continue downwards.
I doubt if ken&Co really understand what is going on at the moment.

In the midst of all the disappointment i think it has some substance.
The pain of seeing what is happening atm is excruciating.
I still think some serious thinking and adjustments will be needed though, we are holding onto players who dont seem to add much to this side.

There is definitely a collective mindset problem, which hopefully we can overcome. Players are having stinkers of years a confidence is shot, many of these players are experienced players which makes it worse. Forget the gold pass Ken (that killed the previous two coaches) , players need to be made accountable. They do really want he year over, mentaly you can see it, all they want to do is run and hide at the minute.
