The 'emotion' line quotes from Connors as per advertiser article:

"But it's not unreasonable for Pat to say to me that it's been an emotional period and I haven't given it some thought lately and I was thinking one thing and I'm now thinking another"

"And I don't think it's unreasonable for him to be given time to work through this and not make a decision in an emotional state"

Basically - "I'm pretending I don't know"

He's deliberately vague there.

You don't think that managers would try to persuade their clients to take a specific action? Especially if they think it is for their own good?

Only time I can see a manger doing this is if they're set for a much much bigger pay packet if a player makes one decision of another. That isn't the case with Dangerfield and I also don't believe Connor's is that sort of manager.

Not really. Possibly. But in this case, Connors' cut will be the same at Adelaide or Geelong so I'm sure he doesn't care.

Good sporting managers don't dictate what their clients should do.
What if PD had told Connors that he was leaning toward going back home and, now that he has changed his mind, Connors may try to get Danger to wait a few weeks before he makes his mind up. Just to make sure his decision is not made during an emotional period.
Shouldn't a caring manager actually do that?

You would think they would advise clients on whats best for their careers. If that does happen Adelaide wins hands down.

Maybe Frank Costa's promised Connors free fruit and veg for a year.

Connors: "c'mon Danger, you know how much a banana costs nowadays!"

Well I am a bit slow - . A certain 'influential citizen' offers a bunch of carrots to a good friend if that good friend can help get a particular outcome. But the pesky underling goes ahead and makes a decision that is not to the benefit of the afore mentioned citizen and his friend. Result? All hell breaks loose and there is a border crossing.

This is the part that worries me.

My spirits are quite ghigh tonight with all this frivolity.

I think Alex should invite Wayne to his next dinner party.

Smart play from Danger is to sign a two year deal with us and see how we respond next year. Only Melb club looking much closer than us to a flag is Hawks. So unless they can find more cash than the Crows can it's pointless... last thing he would want is to leave, we galvanise and march on to a flag without him.

I think Danger was happy to ride the bus to the end of the year with regards to his future, but with Walsh passing it might of made him think about whats important in life and means the most to him. So if he signs it wont be for Walshy, but rather his perception of whats important and what legacy he wants to leave might be more of the issue. When someone close to you dies, especially at a youngish age, it does make you think.

I wish this thread was open to opposition supporters.

We are not communists but we should give opposition posters the right to post on this topic so long as they are respectful.

Go easy on the cats' supporters as they may need a hug after their hopes of having a crack at a flag are about to disappear for a while... Particularly a certain poster beginning with M will be in need of therapy...
