My theory is that article was written a few weeks back before the Phil Walsh tragedy. Ruccutio then wrote a couple of pieces of Phil Walsh to put in the paper so they are now publishing this piece... I think the following has happened.
Danger decided just before walshy died to stay at the crows but due to the unforeseen circumstances could not announce it. The club does not want to announce it now as they are fearful the media especially the wank fest from Victoria will perceive it at he is only staying because of PW.

Now sanders and Alex have received info to suggest this. The club also anxious to boost the morale of the club and supporter base leak info to local media but also deny to keep in line with their strict contract policy of the club. I have also received info in the past week from a former board member who has all year played a strait bay but made a point to tell me he is now staying, so don't read into today's interview anything more then danger playing it safe and will announce when he time is right

Danger staying because of PW's death absolutely will be the narrative that gets run with. Already seen plenty of Twitter posts with stuff like "I thought he was gonna leave, but he'll feel guilty about leaving now, so he'll stay".

A rumored 2 year deal only reinforces the perception that he doesn't want to be at Adelaide and is only staying because he doesn't want to be the bad guy.
