I remember him sitting in the stands when we beat someone we werent expected to in the wet at Footy Park (ie. a few years ago now). Reckon it might have been the cats. Think Rory dragged us over the line. Tex may have been out too?? Remember him being pumped with someone when Sloane too a courageous mark and goaled in the last.
Thought that was when Otten took a contested one hander against Harry Taylor in the goal square, but with my memory...

Reckon his quarter was over rated tbh. He had 10 touches and at one stage went almost 10 minutes without a touch. The marks did nothing other than eat a bit of time as the kicks were both turnovers. 6 touches from the 20 minute mark to the siren, where at least two were direct turnovers.

Downplay it all you like if that helps ease the burn if he leaves but his influence can't be ignored.

Btw I'm not saying we will turn into a rabble if he leaves or even miss finals. What I am saying is Danger is the difference between us winning a flag and not winning one in the next 5 years.

Nothing to do with easing the burn, just the quarter wasnt that great.

umm, no

sure i'd prefer it if he stays, but any half-shrewd observer watching the AFC over the last 12 months knows that this team is going places - with or without Danger.

Bartel and Taylor both had chances to win that game in the final minutes and kicked behinds too. We lucked out a bit in that win.
both were within 20-30m of goal too, with not a lot of angle

One interesting theory I heard about why putting off the announcement and playing the 'havent thought about it/waiting for end of season' card (if indeed he has agreed to stay behind closed doors) is good strategically for the club:

If he waits as long as possible to publically commit to the AFC, thus holding up other teams who've cleared space for him, does it give us an advantage when trying to land another big recruit in the meantime? He's the biggest domino in this years free agency. We could potentially stitch up another key name (knowing full well Danger was staying) before other clubs had the chance to even roll out plan B or C.

I don't think this is the case mind you, but I'd like to think our new off-field crew would dare to be this shrewd...

The opposite argument to this though is that if we are trying to attract players to the club, they would want to know if Danger is staying.

If we were telling them he is/isnt surely this would leak to the media.

If Danger leaves, the most important player to fill the breach becomes Brad Crouch.

If Danger leaves, Brad is a ready made replacement if he can stay fit.

Having said that, if Danger stays, and Brad is fit, look out!

We're certainly closer to the point where we can say it's his loss, not ours. Not there yet, but almost.

If family means giving up a shot at finishing what he started, that's his choice to live with. The fact remains that whatever compensation we get for him, we'll have a truck load of salary cap space to work with at filling the gaps. To think we'll roll over and get a few second-string players with that much space is to suggest our admin/recruitment team is completely incompetent. And that isn't a fair accusation on the back of what we've seen so far this year.

Found this bloke barracking for the Crows on Saturday night pretty funny #antsinhispants

Though I would of looked fairly similar if someone had recorded me :D

Fantastic stuff ...

That was a quiet reserved version of me - although me and the kids would not put up with the other spectators s******ing and making comments like he did ... they would have had to remove themselves from the area !

Are those baskets full of corgis?

in the event of a move to Geelong, anyone considered Dangerfield will be being paid more than the captain, Selwood. Surely this will not work?

That was like looking in a mirror.

Danger isn't alone out there in being unsigned (Selwood, Kreuzer, Leuey & Garland are the other RFA's)

Kreuzer needs to show a bit more gratitude to Carlton after the patience they've shown with him. Not to mention the fact that they gave up Jacobs so they could continue to give him opportunities to play.

So do you reckon that maybe a team of experienced recruiters may be able to see through this clever ruse as easily as us BF posters? I reckon they might have a few plans in place that will get executed whatever Danger does or doesn't do.

I would love to know why robbo on 360 wanted to talk specifically to pd this week. I think there are so many conflicting stories.

1) staying for 2
2) going to Geelong for 5
3) missus has a Job on the Gold Coast
4) missus transfer to hawthorn
5) Crows will never match
6) Crows will definitely match

Some people are leaking crap. Only time will tell which ones.
I think more that PD spoke with them last year at the event and was excellent - joking around, etc
