Oh I don't like that deal and wouldn't take it. But have no problem at all with a combination of pick 22 + future 1st round or a player with decent potential. I would be disappointed if the club has not had a chat with a few young players to confirm that they see their future at the Dockers, because if they don't, this is the opportunity to make the move.

I think for whatever reason we are actually serious about trading for Sunshine now.

Today is the first day that there is a Freo website story about our interest. Everything else has come from Young or Young leaking stuff.

Who knows what that means though and whether it means anything will get done.

I wonder if we've tried to get a second 1st round pick for next year and throw 2 x future 1st rounders to GWS. I presume that would be allowed under the rules given only 1 of the picks is originally ours.

Thinking we could identify a team we expect to slide (for arguments sake say Sydney) whose 1st rounder next year may be lower than it is this year and trade with them.

Not sure if rules allow on-trading of future picks, though.

I am not against trading any player within reason. But at Neale's level it must be worth our while, and he must want it. Pick 9 is a great pick. I think in the past it netted us Drum. He was a decent choice and I am bringing him up to highlight why I would not trade Neale for 9.
