Makes me ill Sam Wiedeman being at Melbourne. Should be here where he belongs.

They wouldn't give him up easyJust listening to SEN and the boys are going through Melbourne's out of contract players come seasons end.
One name stood out for me. Tom Macdonald.
He is exactly what we need. A big strong reliable key defender.
I know I'm dreaming but once Clokes contract expires the cap space we have could land this guy.
If we actually Pick a Tall

The way we're going I'm wondering how attractive a destination we will be to players who may be looking for a real flag contender?

Problem with Hansen is that he gets Knocked out every second week and also very injury prone. Just what we need to increase the length of our already ridiculous injury listI'd rather us look at a bloke like Lachie Hanson. Would come relatively cheap and personally I think he has really really improved in the last few years.
With him and Reid in the backline our intercept marking ability would skyrocket.
Its pretty simple come seasons end for us, every single player on the list is available. No-one is off limits.
It is, it never works out quite so, but you get the idea. That's a pretty simple strategy.

So Pendles isnt off limits???
Disagree. Some who are off limits are
Moore
Treloar
Williams
Adams
Sidebottom
Umm that's about it for me

It's a sad state but we have not improved at all over the past 4 years and are still going backwards. I don't think he will be around for our next tilt at a flag so it may be worth letting him go somewhere where he can get a second flag and allowing us some prime picks to try to build a list that will be competitive.
Of course I would never push him out of the club, but if he was so inclined I wouldn't try to force him to stay
I do really like McDonald as a player, but if we are going to target a key defender of that quality it has to be Hurley. Hurley is a guy that we can get as a free agent so would cost us only the expense of a fat contract. We aren't in a position to throw away any more high draft picks in my opinion.
Not to mention his hammies and calf.Would take an immense load of Reid's shoulders.
