2. You see a head shot of a person that is not at all suggestive or sexualised, sexualise it yourself and comment as though the person with the avatar is thinking the same way as you. Thinking you might have just said more about you than me there.

OK here is your issue, you read way too much. People like Eddie appeal to other primal males who feel they have lost their way in an equalitarian society, a society where jokes about violence against any minority are not considered jokes.

Fortunately for him there many out there who still fit that mold. Fight Club watching types who have no idea how to be a man outside of being bullying, harassing, threatening and vicious.

Now the absurd thing is that without his contacts Eddie is about as threatening as your average pastry, but he mimics all the traits of his idol Kerry Packer, as does his lap dog (even though he despises Eddie) Brayshaw.

Even Gilligan admitted that the whole system Fked up not picking this one up sooner, and that's a tick for him. And I agree Eddie is such a dumb, old world dinosaur that it is to some extent it's to be expected of him.

But do we just let statements like that go? Like when Arthur Tunstall said, when asked about having indigenous fighter box for Australia replied, "We need people who know how to use a knife and fork."

This isn't hard. In her profession she wrote an article that may or may not have been based on fact. Do you a) publicly question her ethics, her professionalism, call her out to provide evidence and suggest that her employer dismiss her for doing her job poorly or b) publicly ridicule her in an area outside of that which you are upset with her about, and encourage others to do so as well.

I note in her response she acknowledges some of the critical articles she writes and and concedes she expects criticism in return, and moves on from it.

As a Carlton supporter I know a bit about boorish, racist, sexist presidents who overstay their welcome, end up looking like dinosaurs and think they're above the game.

I don't really want Eddie to leave Collingwood because he's now in Elliot post-1990 territory. He's an embarrassment, his best years are past, he is exercising questionable judgement in relation to his presidential duties, and he has cowered his board into submission.
