I wonder how much the Democrats will learn from this. Can they win back those rust belt states that swung from Obama to Trump in 4 years? I can't imagine Trump winning support in any current Democratic states in 2020, so the focus should be on contact with those areas and Florida now, not just when the midterms come around in 2018.

A more progressive platform that actually gives a shit about the working class should be the agenda, their fake progressive centre right platform is being exposed and seen through

the caption is would have had was 'how much longer do i have to listen to this wind bang next to me' 'havnt you gone already'

Trump's greatest skill will be avoiding a backlash from his own support base when the inevitable happens and he can't do what he promised.

That cult of personality that has enraptured so many (even on here) will be put to the test watching him squirm and pointing at scapegoats.

It's going to get ugly.

Sad to say they were clearly bent by hard core religious influences in their formative years. Thankfully most people grow out of it but some are permanently damaged by the experience.
The worst thing is their desire to force others to comply with their beliefs
Such a waste. It causes such pain.
says the man 'clearly bent by his hard core leftist attitude'. When are you going to grow out of it? or are you permanently damaged?

Dems were killed on turnout, the GOP turnout was largely the same as the previous two elections.

If the dems can produce a viable progressive candidate in 2020 they should win easily. If Sanders runs (unlikely) it will likely be a landslide

This was Trump's position in March :

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said Monday he believes Israel should pay for defense aid it receives from the US, hours before he was slated to give a speech at the pro-Israel AIPAC policy conference.

During a press conference in Washington, Trump was asked whether he believed the Israeli government should pay for American defense, as he had called for other US allies such as South Korea, Japan and Saudi Arabia to do.

I think Israel will do that also, yeah, I think Israel do—there are many countries that can pay and they can pay big league,” responded the billionaire businessman.

A week before the election (and after being paid off by Adelson & others who support the expansion of the Jewish state) ::

With six days until Election Day, Donald Trump’s advisers on Israel released a position paper explaining their candidate’s stance regarding the Jewish State. The document reveals what how a Trump candidacy would look like for Israel.

Among the topics highlighted in the document by Trump’s Israel advisers Jason Greenblatt and David Friedman was the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries. In regards to this matter, it was noted that a Trump administration would promise that Israel receives the greatest amount of aid possible. The document stressed that the deal does not limit Congress from sending additional aid.

So tell me Trumpians how exactly is Donald going to bring change?

Dig a deeper swamp?

and she still lost.

Sure. Just because the mistruths are greater and more frequent doesn't mean there aren't millions of dummies who won't lap them up. In fact, it's probably of greater benefit in that regard to lie large and lie often.

There's a poster in this thread that's provided a great example of the type of people who handed Trump the presidency. Don't understand the facts, but pretend they do and and when confronted by an undeniable truth staring them right in the face, deny it all the same in favour of maintaining fictional version of the man.

Victory here is no validation of anything other than the size of the problem America is facing.

the DNC lost because they chose Hillary, this deal was pretty much done 4 years ago, If they chose any other moderate democrate they would have won. The mud didnt stick to Trump mainly because Hillary has a truck load herself

calling them all dummies is why they voted against you.

you guys are slow learners.

So, given Hillary has won the popular vote, but lost the election, is the system rigged as Donald said, and she should have won? Where are all those who complained about the rigged system earlier, will they protest against this injustice?

Ye...I honestly can't see it going any other way. He has promised an absolute shitload.

Put aside all the foreign policy, social/political change he has promised...just on the economic front...can anyone give me any idea how the feck he will get it done?

Maybe we're wrong and they've been satiated by the win. I just can't see it, but...they're pissed and they want what they've been told is theirs.

When Smackdown finishes.

King Canute sat on the shore line to hold back the tide in ancient folk lore. Trump made the same clarion call to those struggling in the rust belt areas.
He may well push the savage right wing antisocial agenda, not the Mexican paid for wall, nor the economic rubbish he trotted out. Massive tariffs will kill the US economy as well as other nations.
We live in interesting times ;)

It's not interesting coz I smell a world war coming

Taiwan and Hong Kong also engaged in protest votes, shit's going down in Hong Kong, in South Korea. So it's not just the west that's in disarray.

I'd be interested to hear from LicoriceAllSorts re: the fix being in as proved by a leaked magazine featuring president clinton. LOL :drunk:

I'm on my iPad and have trouble posting. I meant to say I was worried he'd win. I despise him, and couldn't believe people would vote for him, but was never confident that Hillary would win.

agree

the only positive is he has the capability of breaking the corrupt establishment of US politics. The only question is at what price.

i can believe everything you say is true because people are just stupid but if you dont think its happening in the reverse at the same locations you are living in denial, its called cherry picking

What? That Asian-Americans are telling white people to go home? What a stupid thing to say.

There is angst both ways with those for and against Trump. What I'm talking about has nothing to do with that. Nothing at all. Finding a way to excuse it or dismiss it, as though it's just somehow part of political expression, is just appalling.
