His bread and butter is intercept marking which earns him a lot of points. However, with the improvement of the midfield, you'd hope that the Dee's will concede less inside 50s -plus TMac will now have no kick-in duties whatsoever, and we will try to limit has ball use with the addition of good kicks in Lewis Hibberd and the return of Salem. TMac has averaged 19 disposals a game in recent seasons, but to put that in perspective, even Nev Jetta and Bugg averaged 65-70 SC points and 16-17 disposals a game last year but they are both lockdown defenders/tagger and Buggs main shortcoming is kicking. With these better kicks coming into play, I'm thinking that we will limit unnecessary ball use from Tmac, Frost and Omac. I think 17 disposals a game is more realistic for TMac which will see him average 6 or so points less than normal which would be around 85-ish.Interesting that you rate TMac as going backwards. Previous top defender and av 99 from round 8 last season. Would not have thought Hibberd would impact his role that much?
