Why do their supporters think that the Cathay Pacific deal is only for a hundred airline tickets?

Because they're Adelaide supporters?

According to one of their number our indigenous program began and ended as a face-saving exercise after plantaingate.

That's the level of intellect we're dealing with.

Does free rent = the millions we generated for the SANFL over the past 27 years?
Does 'handouts' =giving PA a fraction of the millions it has generated for the SANFL for over the course of its AFL and SANFL history. Carn

And meanwhile, GWS are receiving $13 million more from the AFL...

it's like that old socialist joke:

a billionaire, a worker and an immigrant are sitting in a room with a cake cut into ten slices sitting on a table, the billionaire takes nine slices and then says to the worker "watch out! he's after your slice!"

I know from a good source that we got a significantly better deal with Cathay to what CSA was offering. If the Crows got the same deal offered to us, they are welcome to have it.

It's almost as if we met with all interested parties and took the best deal.

As I've said: the millions we've generated for the SANFL over the years far outweigh rental costs!
bwahahahaha, how much do you thing the Port Adelaide magpies generated for the SANFL in their lifetime

Funny that.

Allow me space to point out a couple of relevant facts:

CATHAY PACIFIC
Is not a Chinese airline; it is in fact British, majority owned by the Swire Group.
It aims for standards that consistently have it among the top few airlines globally, and has a long line of sponsorship-hungry international sporting clubs knocking on its door and camped in its waiting room.

CHINA SOUTHERN
Is a Chinese Airline, founded and headquartered in Guangzhou, a city historically looked down on by Shanghai and Beijing, and leapfrogged by traders seeking influential connections in North and East China.
It aims to sponsor sporting entities whose chairman is also the head of the local airport authority, no matter how unexciting, obsequious and slow off the mark he / she is.

bwahaha

I'm concerned for the longevity of any Chinese based sponsorships for the cows with the openly racist and anti-china stance that the cows number 1 ambassador Steven Rowe continues to portray.
This along with the blatant racist posts from their financial members on here and social media platforms are deplorable.

If CSA were to ever read or hear this, they would run at 100 mph from this company.

Wouldn't it be funny if some mischievous Ports supporter mailed then a few links? ;)

Just because you don't like the name "handouts" doesn't make them anything other than 'handouts'. You received $2.7m more than the Crows and yet you are the 'heavyweights'. Whatever pumps your tires up I suppose!
So what you are saying is that the Crows are living off handouts as well. Awesome, I'll take this info into my next discussion with a Crows supporter. Thanks.

His implication was obvious. Port has a history of laying the foundations for future gains (being one of two existing foundation members of the SANFL, the AFL coming to SA in the first place, sublicence emancipation, Adelaide Oval, the SANFL reserves setup, China), ie. doing the heavy lifting.
Clearly he's got no concept of the term 'heavy lifting' and would be happy to still be supporting an AFL team that plays at AAMI stadium, doesn't own its licence, has no reserves team, has no Shed to celebrate post match, is barely scraping by due to their horrid stadium deal even though they weekly sell out, etc. etc.

Kerry Packer once said if you aren't actively trying to minimise your taxes you need your head read. Surely Kochie would know that?
so you post 3 consecutive losses, yes comprehensive losses not mickey mouse operating profits - 2014 $8.03 mil but really a loss of $3.27 mil after removing accounting entries for the sub licence fee 15 year payments expensed all in 2014 and recognising an AO income producing asset, 2015 a $1.288 mil loss and 2016 a $1.346 mil loss, you are a not for profit so you pay no income tax to the feds, yet the tax the governing body imposes, the equalisation tax, is imposed on you despite making real losses!
